Re: Elsie Books
That's from my childhood, Phat, not Ringo's. Read above Ringo's post you'll see.

Lil Jon meets Mr. Dictionary
Jon writes: I specifically remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 on the floor of the living room... we had such nice carpet in there then , and I'd skip meals and going to the bathroom just to play that game. Jon writes: I remember coming home to play Nintendo, turning on the television, and then going to defecate while I waited for it to come on. Jon writes: I remember my mother's mother in particular. She had the coolest sand in her driveway, and you could build anything out of it. For the longest time, she also didn't have indoor plumbing, which meant outhouse galore I have a word for you to look up..... coprology....

I remember when I was about 3 or 4 playing with my cousins who climbed up into a tree I was too little to climb. They then started yelling and screaming saying that a monster was kiling them. I ran home crying with my little sister and I became a fearfull child for many years.

Shrink 2 Phit
Someone (I think it was a psychology teacher) once told me that many people enter the field of psychology to figure themselves out initially. I majored in psychology until I got to statistics....I hated that part!

Re: Shrink 2 Phit
I went into psychology because I loved the psychologists in the Foundation books by Asimov. But I liked stats.

Hmm, I always remember going into the woods with my friends, climbing up the trees and not thinking about the future. Good old days.

* bump * I accidentally came across this thread while I was trying to see how often I'd used the word "shorn" (because the spell-check on firefox doesn't think it's a word). Anyway, this stuff is interesting apart from the last few posts where someone tried to troll the thread, and my own post where I was obviously lying. Many of the posters aren't current any more, so would any of our present members like to contribute?

Surprise, surprise.
I started this thread as a lark and the OP was simply a complete fantasy but I really expected some members to recognize that, particularly those from the UK, and hoped they would respond in kind. Sadly, that never happened. Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

Re: Surprise, surprise.
I don't get it. Did you hope that people would respond by inventing rather twee childhood memories that are superficially self-deprecating in some way? Or was Dr A's hilarious contribution more the intended outcome?
