Man Cuts Off, Microwaves His Own Hand
HAYDEN, Idaho (AP) - A man who believed he bore the "mark of the beast" used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.
***
The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains a passage in which an angel is quoted as saying: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God's fury."
The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."
Full story here.
My question is, if you believe in a seven day creation a few thousand years ago, why don't you cut off your hands when you use them in sinning?
Faith and belief, please and thank you.

This challenge is really quite tricky. How, exactly, are they supposed to type their response to you?

Could be worse. He could have seen the sign of the beast on his forehead.
(Or, having seen the sign of the beast on his hand, he might not have severed it and thus condemned himself to eternity in hell!)

What if you don't believe in a seven day creation a few thousand years ago?
Have fun,

Re-The book of Matthew

The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."
Matt 5:30 (KJV) And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Just to set the record straight for KJV users.
Have fun,

ICANT, correct me if I'm wrong, but I could have sworn you were a young earth creationist. Am I mistaken?

Re-Young Earth Creationist
Hi Taz,
correct me if I'm wrong,
Ok you are definitely wrong.
I am not Young Earth.
I am not old Earth as most gapers.
I am super old earth and universe.
I have stated in past posts that I believe in the Bible account given in Genesis 1:1 with no other verses needed.
Yes I am a true believer.
Would I cut my hand off? If it would keep me out of heaven yes. But it will not and can not the only thing that can do that is not receiving Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour.
Was this guy crazy? Probably, But not neseceraly. He could have been a religious fanitic misguided by some kook.

So a religious fanatic misguided by some kook should be considered sane?

Re: Re-Young Earth Creationist
Hi sidelined,
So a religious fanatic misguided by some kook should be considered sane?
Hadn't really thought of it in those terms but after further review, yes he could be sane.
You see I would consider myself a religious fanitic and I think I am quite sane. I know a lot of you would disagree with me.
My God comes first, My Church comes second, My wife comes third, My children come fourth. I don't count. I have spent most of what I have made in my lifetime helping others. I enjoy helping others to the point at 68 I am still working so I can help. So as I think about it most would say I am insane. But I have enjoyed every minute of my life, I just wish I had been able to do more.
Have fun,

"John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Yikes! Hayden Lake is my home town. I have not heard of this story yet and saw it here first. I will do some checking and find out more about this - which is a bit more than I can believe.
We do have a local church that gets gemstones from heaven delivered by angels and Christian Identity Nazi Parades but a guy microwaving his own hand that is just really really weird.
