Re: From pottery to canyons....?
We are constantly find older cities. One of the great new tools has been satellite photography. One other great thing we have been able to find, an indication that may be even better than the cities themselves, are the signs of irrigation canals.
We are also finding more and more examples of early developments in North America and South America, like the current dig at Monte Verde in Chili that dates back to at least 14,000 years ago and the Topper site in South Carolina.

Immigration has been a problem Since 1607!

Re: From pottery to canyons....?
As long as we are looking at the world and environment 5767 (actually 5768 now) years ago I don't see how it is off topic.
The facts are that we are finding new indications almost daily that by 5000 or so years ago most of the basics that define human civilization, trade, pottery, agriculture, community projects, art, technology was not just beginning but had spread all over the globe.

Immigration has been a problem Since 1607!

On the topic
But wait weren't you just saying that this was off topic. What caused you to change your mind?
What I said was that the nonsense about the Great Wetting that Never Happened was off topic. I even provided links to threads where such nonsense would actually be on topic.
But most anything related to "The world and environment 5767 years ago" would be pretty much on topic.

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!
