HI Heinrik,
Heinrik writes:
Don't they mean exactly the same or can they only understand one version?
Sin = "Sin is a term used mainly in a religious context to describe an act that violates a moral rule, or the state of having committed such a violation. Commonly, the moral code of conduct is decreed by a divine entity"
Sin - Wikipedia
Offend = "to cause difficulty, discomfort, or injury".
Unless you are God then it would be.
Offend = "to transgress the moral or divine law"
Matthew did not say anything about the hand offending God.
He did say if it offends you.
The article from the paper:
The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."

The article is quoting Matthew 5:30 I am stating in my message
Message 7 that if it is quoting a Bible it is not the King James Version.
The author should have designated which Bible he was referring too.
But the way it is put he is inferring God said if your right hand cause you to sin cut it off.
Have fun,
"John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."
