Nope.
Not in the least, actually.
Being right about something, and being able to demonstrate it, doesn't make me a better person.
It just makes me right.
If you feel less because you can't do that, that's not my problem.

Re: Refill please.
I would confidently imagine that Nator knows a great deal more about ponies than I (even though I grew up with them and have many years of experience with crazy skittish beasts) because of her systematic education.

How do you know he has learned something?
Do you have enough knowledge of conformation, breeding, nutrition, training, riding, competing etc. to be able to compare his knowledge and mine?
If so, why don't you test us?
You do realize that the person jumping the horse in my avatar photo is me, right?

"Welcome to EvC"
Thank you; I have been reading for a few months. This was just too important not to cite.
"Why did you not explain that the two verses you were quoting was concerning speaking in other tongues."
I did not explain that those verses regard speaking in tongues because that would be lying. Like the Jews before them, early Christian women were forbidden from speaking during worship. You can argue that this was about tongues or about women speaking over the separations between men and women in the buildings, but it is very clear. It is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

I'm not sure what you are gettin at. A few of us here are laughing our asses off.
Ah Hill Billy, you don't appreciate my sense of humour. Sorry, to have misled you. I wasn't serious. I've followed a lot of your posts and I have never had such a good laugh. I've even come to support you a couple of times. Thankyou for that.
Now we are friends can you answer my bloody question? ha ha ha
Hi Hill billy, glutton for punishment rh? still they are only words. The quote above : isn't that what the creationists say? I thought Nator was an evolutionist?

Hi Taz,
ICANT, are you trying to be ironic? Because I can't tell if you intended or not to be ironic.
This is exactly what Hill Billy is talking about in this thread.
You think because I am a creationist I am stupid.
Taz the Bible is my life, just like some of these people science is their life.
So don't tell me what the Bible says.
If you or anyone wants to understand it all you have to do is ask 5 questions about a passage. The same questions a reporter need to have answers too. To write a good story.
Who is talking.
What are they talking about.
To whom are they talking.
Why are they talking.
When or about what time are they talking.
Keep everything in context and it will make sense.
Now you make Paul say whatever you want him to say.
Have fun,

"John 5:39 (KJS) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

ICANT writes:

Paul
What are they talking about.
Speaking in tongues. And also briefly reciting old laws on women speaking in the church.
To whom are they talking.
People thousands of years ago... aka savages.
Why are they talking.
He was taking drugs?
When or about what time are they talking.
A couple thousand years ago.
What's your point?

Ok, to be fair, how would you interpret that particular chapter? This should be good.

You think because I am a creationist I am stupid.
No, I don't think you're stupid. I think you are self-deluding. There's a big difference. Some of the self-deluding people I've met were also some of the smartest people I've ever known.
Taz the Bible is my life, just like some of these people science is their life.
You have no idea how many times I've heard that one from people who didn't know jack about the bible.

It just makes me right.
Don't you mean self-righteous? If you were just 'right' you wouldn't feel the need to sprout about it so much.

I don't, that's just it.
I didn't start this thread, you know.
And even if I was occasionally self-righteous about being right in the facts?
How would you feel if you had participated on this board for many years, even back when it was just a little Yahoo Club, and Creationist arguments and their willfully ignorant debate tactics against scientific fact hadn't changed at all in all those years?

Hill Billy, I think it is very easy in this case to for me to put your arguement that my experience with horses contained greater learning than Nators' systematic education (which I like to think of as concentrated experience) to bed.
I spent 10 years living onsite in a race horse stables. I mucked out, groomed and fed the evil racehorses, dodging stray hooves, chins that would bash down on me from on high and that terrible scrapping noise they make at night in their stalls.
My experience (coloured by my subjective experience of the evil brutes) taught me to keep the hell away from them!
My experience was my own and thus could in no way benefit from the thousands of person years of experience that can be taught directly to the student.
My dad tried to teach me about horses but he was not a teacher and so could not imparted his wisdom to me.
For that you need systematic education.
Nator obviously knows a great deal about the crazy creatures otherwise she would not have attained a degree. A degree is imparted wisdom. It is the knowledge and experience of many people experienced in the field in question. How do you think degrees are attained? By lottery?
I know less about horses than Nator if you missed my point.

Can I refer you to your thread about how every one else is wrong about E=MC^2?
If you were just right you would shut the fuck up about that particualr issue but you go on and on and on.
Your comments here highlight the position of a hypocrit.
Edited by Larni, : Removed qualifier about E=MC^2 thread.

Larni, the funny thing is that I've spent many an hour mucking, feeding, and dodging the hurtful bits, too.
I've even been fallen on and bitten a couple of times.

Re: Refill please.
Yeah, but I bet you did it 'cause you were one of those funny girls who liked the beasts. I had to do it 'cause my dad trained them.
I still cringe when I see someone walk behind a horse or approach it from the front! It brings back memories of being kicked (a shod kick really hurts) or having those massive square teeth coming at me.
Race horses are mental!
