Horses bite?
They certainly can, yes.
It is natural agressive behavior for them.
There's no need to avoid them, though. Most horses that humans come into contact with are trained not to bite. Still, any horse might, just like any dog might bite. You just have to learn to read their body language so as to avoid being bitten, kicked, stepped on, etc.

Race horses are mental!
You'd be mental too if you were bred to run, run, run, conditioned to be incredibly fit and only go at top speed, fed high-energy food, and kept confined to a little box for 22 hours a day.
Not to mention that you are essentially a young teenager, and you were never taught to have manners. You'd be crawling out of your skin at that point, too.
I've retrained many ex-racehorses and when they spend 18 hours a day grazing in the pasture and learn that having a rider on board dosn't always mean that they will be sprinting as fast as they can go, they can turn into quite mellow creatures.

Hi Taz,
Taz writes:
You have no idea how many times I've heard that one from people who didn't know jack about the bible.
I have no doubt as I have met a lot in my lifetime that was pastoring churches.
I have met a lot of them on this web site.
Taz I am not very smart. I only made straight A's in school grades 1-16. I take that back I did make one B for one six week period in algebra.
Then I wasted my life by most of my friends standards because I became a preacher and pastored and build churches. I built a lot of other things also.
And yes I feel that there are those on here who think they are better than anybody else. There is no problem with that until it begins to show in their writings in their posts.
I also know several on here that are great people. RAZD and Modulous are a couple. I have been able to learn much from them. Then there are creationist on here that are the same as the evolutionist that believe they are better than anyone else and it shows in their posts.
When it comes to science I know very little. But I am learning.
When it comes to the Bible I know volumes. I study it at least 6 hours a day even spending as much time on here as I have the last couple of weeks.
Am I better than anyone. That would be dependend on whom I comparing myself too. Since I choose to compare myself to Jesus I am nothing and I know nothing.
Have fun,

How would you feel if you had participated on this board for many years, even back when it was just a little Yahoo Club, and Creationist arguments and their willfully ignorant debate tactics against scientific fact hadn't changed at all in all those years?
Have you tried to change in all those years? I may not have been on this forum as long as you have, nator, but it's just the same in the outside world.

Nope, the one in Lakeland It went out of existence sometime in the 90's while I was overseas. I did not even know it had happened and still don't know all the particulars.
I did not even know there was one in Tampa.

Re: This ain't coffee, it's cold brown water.
ah. apparently they picked up and moved to brandon, which is literally the next town east of tampa. which also has a "florida baptist college" which was founded in 2000-something. "baptist college of florida" (which is NOT in lakeland, but started there as well) has left a larger internet footprint.
you can understand my confusion, i hope.

ICANT, not to ruin the mood or anything, but I'm really curious about how you rationalize that particular passage in 1 Cor about women in churches. Myself and a few others are keeping our eyes out for your explanation.
Take care.

What you don't seem to understand, Heinrik, is that I have changed in all those years.
It is a fairly subtle change, and anyone could see it for themselves if they cared to dig back through a sampling of my old posts.
I have, for the most part, been very patient with people who are obviously ignorant of science, yet feel completely comfortable criticizing it on the basis of their religious beliefs.

Creationist arguments and their "willfully ignorant" debate tactics
I really meant a change in your judgement of others. You feel sure about this and I am sure on occasions it may be true but not for everyone.
It is a fairly subtle change, and anyone could see it for themselves if they cared to dig back through a sampling of my old posts.
In my humble opinion, what is not subtle and has not changed is your putting labels on top of other labels and disregarding the human being underneath. Please do not substitute anyone's opinion for that of your own. You obviously know yourself better than me, for sure.

I an not going to try to rationalize this passage. To do so I would have to have rational people to explain it to. Since you and Taz have your mind made up it would take too many posts, And I am not going to try Percy's patience.
I will say Paul was talking about a specific subject. And giving intructions how it was to be done. If you have ever been in a unknown tongue speaking church you should understand Pauls concerns.

But why only women if that was what Paul was talking about?

Seems kinda defeat the purpose of discussion, doesn't it?
No, really, I really want to know what you have to say about this. I haven't heard an explanation for this passage before.
Good night to you.

Sounds like they got around almost as much as I did.
After 1973 The only ones involved in the school that I kept up with was two of my professors who moved to California. There is only one left alive now.
You know how you don't like my Genesis approach well they didn't either only my professor and one other student. I was pastoring a church in the area and about a year after school we had an agreement to disagree and went separate ways.
If they are in Brandon I will have to look them up and see what their theology is these days. I know the last I heard it was getting pretty liberal in the 80's. If you got an address e-mail it to me.
And always have fun.
