It is my contention that anytime a theory is based strictly on physical evidence that this type of theory is inferior. It is inferior because physical evidence can be interpreted anyway that bias requires it to be interpreted......
....the Textual evidence at issue here (chapters one and two) is infinetly more bias proof than physical evidence which can easily be manipulated to say whatever one needs it to say. Based on these arguments and points, Creationism is superior and Evolution inferior.
There must be thousands of defense lawyers who wish judges and juries believed as you do. Think of all money the government can save if they don't bother with forensic investigations. Just get someone to write down what they think happened and prosecute based on the written word. Hey, if it works for you, fine.
Sounds a lot like what happened in the Reign of Terror, France 1790's. It's written down so you can be sure it's absolutely true.

I'm curious. What about the Phelps Klan and how they have been for years holding protests at people's funerals holding signs like "Thank god for dead soldiers" and "god hates fags"?

It becomes clear...Mmm,not so much.
Larni, this post begins with such promise:
I get it now:
But, like a puff of smoke, that promise vanishes.
you have a grudge on behalf of all the people who don't have as much as people who have more.
Cause that statement would suggest I have some sort of emotional stake in this discussion.
Mmmm, steak.
Be rite back....
K..
All the people who were born in a country that does not have as much as the developed world now have a champion who can 'tell it like it is' and put a 'hurting' on all those heartless bastard who through no fault of their own have the opportunity to take advantage of the opportunities thier country can provide.
Yep,
I think her name is Oprah Winfrey.
From this imbalance you conclude
Please... If you read my OP you will see that I arrive at my conclusion solely based on the evidence contained in this forum.
that these 'lotto winners' (and I don't dispute that these lucky few are lucky) look down our 'high faluting noses' what with our 'fancy book learning'.
I call bullshit.
That may be cause the smell is so strong round there.
Can I surmise that you choose your name to identify with these poor unlucky people?
Um, no. You could however, surmise that I chose the name cause I'm ..... you ready?....
A frickin hillbilly.
I wonder why that is so difficult for some people to accept?
Maybe cause....
We see in other people what we see in our self and I leanrt that from 'fancy book learning and the school of 'hard knocks'.
Extremely well said.
So well said in fact that there should be no need for me to comment on this:
Your position is that of an embittered person, lamenting missed opportunities and blaming other people for said missed opportunities.
Is any of this gettin through?
I hope this is not the actual case.
Cause I suspect the actual case is, to anyone who can dispassionately view this thread, clear that I'm merely holdin up a mirror.
It's kinda Funny how many drop by to display their superiority to.....
Themselves.
Really, it's kinda sad.
Shit!
Now "I " got an emotional stake too.
And I'm hungry again.

And it's my belief that the apostasy/secularism is a direct result of the materialism that has come about due to the growth of the economy.
I partially agree, but I think it's a kind of complex feedback loop. Practical knowledge can increase wealth, and also challenge traditional religion. But it's not just really wealth, but perhaps the security that goes with it. Low infant mortality rates and high life expectancy may be far more important in reducing religiosity than whether or not people own a car, or two or three, or four.
It's far from uniform around the world, but a high general quality of life and high education levels certainly seem to go with lower levels of religiosity. And religion certainly thrives on poverty and insecurity.
It is possible to have a racist scientist.
Certainly. Although in this day and age, as amongst educated non-scientists, they're pretty rare.
Don't we all, even though we may not like to admit it, have a streak of racism.
I think we're much more "culturalist", and racism is largely a product of culturalism, because people of different appearance tended to come from radically different cultures, so racial and cultural attributes were confused.

Anyway, I got to wonderin.
" How these folks would Feel if I told them that I was here gathering material for my thesis..."

My guess is that right now many people are laughin their asses off.
Some, I'm sure are pondering,

Seeing how it was pretty obvious from day 1 that Hill Billy is a troll and not at all serious about this thread, I have to ask the people participating: are you really unaware that Hill Billy is laughing at you for being suckered into his "discussion"?

I'm not sure I understand this reference:
Hill Billy is a troll
But I take exception to this!
and not at all serious about this thread
I mean..
are you really unaware that Hill Billy is laughing at you for being suckered into his "discussion"?
What if I'm attempting to lure the "aware" ?

I once read a chinese story. Bare with me, it will make sense.
The story goes like this. There live a husband, a wife, and 2 children. The husband is a respected public official. The 2 children are scholarly students. But the wife is viewed by many as not too bright. One day, while the husband is eating with his friends, the "dumb wife" topic somehow came up. His friends, one by one, begin to tell how dumb their wives are. Not to be outdone, the husband tells his friends that his wife is the dumbest one of all, and he will demonstrate it. He tells one of his friends to pick up the phone and call his home and to tell the "dumbest wife" that the friend is her son and that he needs X (very large) sum of money right now because he is in trouble.
So, the friend proceeds to call the wife of the husband and tells her that he is in trouble and need X amount of money right now. But she can't see him so she'll have to go to the end of the street, leave the money there, and go back home. Even though the voice didn't sound like that of her son, the wife agrees.
Later that day after she had placed the money in the dark alley, the husband and 2 children come home with the money and begin to yell at the wife. "How could you be so dumb? Couldn't you tell it wasn't our son's voice?"
Crying, the wife answers, "Yes, I realized that it wasn't our son's voice, but there was still a chance that it could have been our son in trouble, even if that chance was very very small."
It looks like a troll, it sounds like a troll, it even smells like a troll. But there's chance it's just a lost soul, even if that chance is infinitesimally small.
