Actually, if you want to link directly to a particular message, you need to make sure that there is a "#__" at the end of the url. For example, the link to CS's message is http://

It is best that for such as "m=7#7" the two numbers be the same. If they are not, then the other person may not get directly to message 7.
Individual members can set how many messages per page then want displayed. This can be as small as 5 messages per page. For such, a link containing "m=5#7" will get you to the page with message 5 on it. But message 7 is not on that some page. On the other hand, if the page setup is for 10 messages per page, then "m=5#7" would work fine.
