Super Evolution and the Flood

Super Evolution is the theory that after the "Great Flood" the animals in the ark undergoed a rapid evolution thus creating the variety of species we see today. This theory was created by YEC's in order to fight the mathematical impossibility that Noah put 2 of every species on the ark (there simply could not have been enough space).By my calculations, the theory of Super Evolution presumes that 1 new species emerges every 20 hours. this is not including extinctions since then. Conservative estimates can say 1 every 1.6 days but I couldn't get any more than 1.2 no matter how hard I tried. Now, if you say all this happen directly after the flood and gradually slowed to explain why this rate isn't still happening you get speeds around 10x that, giving you about one speciation every 3 hours and 50 min. This is IMPOSSIBLE. evolution says (by my calculations) that a speciation occurs on average every 316.6 years (much more likely).How can YEC's support these numbers. Directly after the flood the animals couldn't even BREED this fast. Some say God caused it like some sort of miracle but I can't see how this is in any way possible no matter what. On top of that, why do Creationist fight evolution if their own "Great Flood" story supports it 100%. Sry, I kind of forgot about EVC since I posted this. I am very supprised as to how popular this thread has become. I do want to clarify however that I mispoke when I used the word species, but I think you caught on to that pretty well. I beleive the bible says 2 of each kind. I'm still rather new to the forum and its hard sometimes to remember how litteral you have to be around this group of people.

I gennerally beleive this too, but even God cannot cause a species to evolve faster than it can reproduce. Its a logical impossibility. And I highly doubt that God would cause an animal to have offspring every few minuites for a few thousand years.Edited by willietdog, : No reason given.

I think thats allitle harsh don't you?

remember though, Back then a kind of animal was just a kind of animal. they didnt have all these fancy filing systems for species class and family and so on. a bear was a bear and humans weren't even considered animals as they believed as some still do that we were made in Gods image and are above animals. People dont count.
