Hi Percy,
Your take on the possibility is very compelling to me. It follows along with what Scott Bidstrup wrote here
I don't have the time or scholarship to do an indepth research into my questions, but would like to ask anyone if references to Yeshua ben Pantera are strictly Talmudic.
On a side note, I would appreciate opinions on Bidstrup's take on the history and chronology of the Bible (see link above).
