Interesting article. In many ways, certain 'environmentalists' exhibit the same behaviour as religious fundamentalists whereby they readily accept and publicise any evidence supporting their theory while ignoring/discarding any evidence that goes against it.
My grandad grew up in the shadow of Snowdon and he used to tell us of years when there was hardly any snow at the peak in mid March. Of course there was no man-made warming to blame back then and people just accepted that natural variation is just that. O tempora, o mores!

Re: Who gives a crap
If made up it has people working towards something good.
It also has governments taking away our freedoms and our money in the name of 'something good'.

Financially, anything that's tagged with a 'green' tax label.
From a freedoms perspective, I'm talking about the restriction on movement that higher fuel taxes, congestion charges, plane taxes, etc. result in. Also, the surveillance society that we're slowly but steadily becoming. My rubbish bin is already tagged and chipped, you know!

Re: Who gives a crap
Not only have we got cameras,we also like taking pictures of our neighbours overfilling their rubbish bin so that we can fine them!
It's all for the sake of the environment you understand!

Re: Who gives a crap - I do!
Why not simply stop using so much products and energy? Because change is difficult and we like our cavalier lifestyle.
err...not quite. It's because products and energy provide us with our current level of quality of life.
Using less products or energy is going to require self-control.
No, it's going to require huge sacrifices and a big drop in our standard of living.
It looks like necessity is going to bring this.
It looks like totalitarian regimes backed by semi-religious zealots are going to bring this.
