Or, as realists will have it, yet another interesting transitional, this time illustrating the descent of snakes from their lizard ancestors.

Obviosly in that it just shows that snakes & lizards have a common descent.

Pre-fall?

How could there be a pre-fall snake entombed in rock if there was no death before God took their legs away?

Advanced Theology

Damned good point. Ask a Christian about it, is my advice. This kind of advanced theology gives me a headache.

Re: Pre-fall?
One way to think about the Fall is to think of it in non-linear terms. Think of the universe as space-time, not space moving through time. The introduction of death would of necessity affect the past, present and future.

Re: Pre-fall?
past, present and future
So in this analogy the deity would be like Dr Who.
That's pretty good, Dr Who is very popular in the science classes. And it would explain why there's three of him sort of overlapping there.

Re: Pre-fall?
No, it's just a fact that if you introduce such a novel property to the laws and principles making up space-time, from a modern scientific perspective, it is reasonable to think all of space-time would have to have this property.

It was the other snake. He got to keep his legs, he didn't do nothing. Later he was drowned, along with Methuselah, Atlantis, and other big words.
