Re: Don't civil unions do enough for legal purposes?
I have only one dog in this fight: "Marriage" applies only to heterosexual civil unions. The gays want to plunder tradition in the minds of most decent people in this country, who happen to matter, by insisting that "marriage" should apply also to their same-sex civil unions. All I'm saying is let them have their civil unions, and let them call it something other than "marriage," because it isn't. I have only one dog in this fight: "Marriage" applies only to same race civil unions. The inter-racials want to plunder tradition in the minds of most decent people in this country, who happen to matter, by insisting that "marriage" should apply also to their inter-racial civil unions. All I'm saying is let them have their civil unions, and let them call it something other than "marriage," because it isn't. Are you so blind as you don't see the hypocrisy in your own words?

Re: EQUIVOCATION?
In message 46 of this thread Nemeis_Juggernaut improperly used the word 'equivocate'. We all knew what he meant to say so we didn't bother to correct his word usage and most everyone thereafter continued to use the word.

Re: Doggie Rape
I don't believe the SCOTUS went against the national majority opinion on the matter. Can you prove it did? Why didn't you even try to look this up? Here is a link that shows what the public opinion was and how it changed over the years.

Re: Doggie Rape
You've nailed me on that one. I had forgotten the negative public attitude against interracial marriage in 1957, the year I graduated from high school. Thanks for the history lesson. Don't be an asshole, you said prove that people were against inter-racial marriage and I proved it. Concede that the Supreme Court ruling was against the popular consensus at the time, which was the point! This is why we don't let the majority rule in this country!

Over 1000 lightning strikes over the state in one day with no rain on America's first official gay honeymoon weekend And he didn't hit even one gay couple! I've got to wonder about your god if he's batting 0.0 after over a thousand at bats!

Re: Economic Effects
It just exposes some of the types of concerns I have with simply flipping a swtch and allowing gay marriage with no consideration for the consequences. Of which you (and all the others in hundreds of posts in multiple Fora) have failed to mention any sort of substantial consequences. Perhaps there are none. Why don't you start enumerating some or shutup about it already.

Re: Economic Effects
Ahhh, the old "everything is going to be okay... don't worry about it" defense. I didn't say that, I said come up with some, even just one substantial bad consequence of allowing gays to marry. Don't expect us to take your paranoid rantings seriously unless you can back them up.

Re: Liar, Liar, Pants onifre*
with the person... hmmm. Does that have to mean only one? Person is singular, persons is plural. So it would seem that the wording implies that the "legally recognized family" is refering to only one individual.

yep. the Lovings could have moved to a different state. states rights, bro.
You do know that they did move, actually they were given the option of jail or moving out of state. States, as the Supreme Court has ruled, do not have the right to deny basic human rights.

marrying black chicks is a basic human right!?! Marrying who you want to (as long as they are a consenting adult) is a basic human right! This isn't a funny topic so I don't know why you are laughing. Your behavior is juvenile, hopefully this is because you are one and will at some point grow out of it.
