The pictures are absolutely awsome. And that is some of my favorite country. I grew up in the Mid Atlantic and when I first moved out to Arizona it was as though all my life I had been wearing dirty glasses. At that time (and from your pics still true), the contrasts between colors is simply fantastic.
May you make many more such trips over your life.

Your pics are gorgeous. You have a great eye for natural beauty. The black and white is stunning. Thanks for sharing.

Re: Wow~!
Would it be ok if I saved a few of those (like that yucca against ths sky --- NOT the girls doing yoga) -- no commercial use of course.
(though I might want to paint from it)

Re: Wow~!
Sure, go for it.
ETA: If there's a particular one that you want larger, I could upload a larger one. I shrunk them because I didn't know how much information could be shown on a page before it caused things to crash.

I hope I will. I've been VERY privileged to be able to do and see so many awesome places. Last summer my friends and I took a backpacking trip to the Weminuche Wilderness near Durango. We took the train, hiked into Chicago Basin, and climbed Windom and Eolus. And the year before that I got to do a 50-miler through the weminuche around there, and 2 years before that I got to climb Wheeler Pk in NM and Blanca PK in CO, and I got to participate in a Boy Scout troop that did lots of rock climbing, canoeing, and hiking. AND I have a Dad who has always loved showing me the outdoors and taking me hunting and stuff. So I've come to greatly appreciate the outdoors.
I went to a flight camp in Prescott Arizona a couple of summers ago and got to see a lot of the state, but I really want to hike the Grand Canyon and the canyon lands. Arizona sunsets are the most beautiful I've seen anywhere.

If you get back to Arizona try to spend some time in the Superstitions and wandering the Mogollon Rim. Wonderful areas.

Re: Bump...
Good point! I'd like to see some geologists discuss it and hate to do the work of looking things up myself.
