Your beloved FOX News reported yesterday about how Palin did not know what countries constituted NAFTA (hint: its in the name), and thought that Africa was a single country.
What was even funnier was watching Bill O'Riley trying desperatly to defend Palin against this news. Combine that with the fact that she didn't know what the Bush Doctrine was, was totally inept at even the most softball interview questions, and capped her whole experience off by being punked by a Canadian radio station pretending to be French President Sarkozy using a Pepe LePew accent talking about porn made in her honor. Epic Fail. Of course, biblical creationists are committed to belief in God's written Word, the Bible, which forbids bearing false witness; --AIG (lest they forget)

Hey, don't get me wrong, kudos she did it! It takes balls to run for vice-president.
What I'm getting at here is that McCain has so many to choose from, yet he actually went: "Well, that Palin ain't half bad, let's take her"? You're telling me she was the best pick he could make? If so, then I guess the republicans are in a far deeper mess then anyone could've guessed. Or am I missing something vital in American politics? I hunt for the truth

Hi WK,
To remind you, see this prophetic article from the Onion in 2001. Great article, the folks at the Onion are indeed quite prophetic. My favorite of the predictions was...

Hi Huntard,
It takes balls to run for vice-president. Apparently not. I think you set that one up for a punchline.
What I'm getting at here is that McCain has so many to choose from, yet he actually went: "Well, that Palin ain't half bad, let's take her"? You're telling me she was the best pick he could make? I think the problem is in assuming that McCain choose her. I think she was chosen for him.And yes there was clearly a better choice, Romney, who pundits thought would be the obvious choice. Not only for V.P. but for the presidential position too. Shit even Huckabee thought he would be chosen for V.P.. Or am I missing something vital in American politics? Thats the way the system works, it is important to keep us in the dark and distracted. We are not suppose to fully understand American politics, or politics in general for that matter. The thinking is that we as citizens are too stupid to know whats good for us, and the country, so we are guilded ever so gently like cattle to where they feel we should be. Well, Pakistan does have nuclear weapons, and Pakistan and India almost used them against each other in the late 90s.
Of course, McCain can't keep Iran/Al-Qaeda Shi'a/Sunni straight in what is arguably the most important region for foreign policy. Those examples are just minor gaffes compared to the complete blank known as Palin's knowledge regarding anything outside of the US.

Does the fact that Joe Biden thought that Pakistan deployed nuclear weapons against its enemies count for anything? I was never the biggest Joe Biden fan, but that is at least moderatly close to reality. They did test nukes very close to India in an act that was very provacative. Are you seriously trying to compare that to not being able to list the countries of North America? Or thinking that Africa is a country? Were talking about the difference between misreading a news headline and graduating from the 2nd grade. Hey Onifre,
Apparently not.
I wouldn't dare.
I think you set that one up for a punchline. I think the problem is in assuming that McCain choose her. I think she was chosen for him.
Hmm, yes that could be a possibility. But what the ones that chose her thinking then? "Oi! let's get a daft one in there! Bet they'd never expect that! They might be so startled they'd start doing daft things themselves! And then we have 'em! Yeehaa!". Doesn't seem like a good way to run your party.
And yes there was clearly a better choice, Romney, who pundits thought would be the obvious choice. Not only for V.P. but for the presidential position too. That's a bit paranoid, no? Anyway....If we're not supposed to know how this works, how come you have that knowledge? You know, sometimes I tend to agree with the "citizens are too stupid to know what's good for them" bit. When I see some of the things those pollsters produce I can only wonder where they got the retards to answer their questions. Or when I see the "average Joe on the street interview" I sometimes feel like going out and kicking the first one that looks at me with the same glazed eyes a good back thrashing!
Here's a video I hope you can appreciate,
Yes, like I said, a bit paranoid, though I'm sure his intentions are noble.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_uXGCZenwY I hunt for the truth

Do we have a video of him saying this? A transcript? Any proof?

Hi kuresu,
Well, Pakistan does have nuclear weapons, and Pakistan and India almost used them against each other in the late 90s. And in 2002. Also, it may be that Biden was using the word deploy in a different manner. Not making excuses for him just giving a different perspective. Take a look,http://www.pakistanidefenceforum.com/index.php?showtopic=... quote: Edited by onifre, : No reason given. "All great truths begin as blasphemies" "I smoke pot. If you will accept me as a witness, which I doubt, I can tell you that I saw and heard him say that in a debate* against Palin. And it wasn't a throw-away statement either; he said point blank that Pakistan had deployed nuclear weapons against its enemy. Do we have a video of him saying this? A transcript? Any proof? *Added by edit: Here's the transcript of that debate (but you'll have to scan through it). Hey Huntard,
Doesn't seem like a good way to run your party. Unless the objective was to lose.
Oi! let's get a daft one in there! I don't think they said "Oi" my Netherlands friend.
That's a bit paranoid, no? Not at all. It should be common knowledge by now. And not just in the US, even Canada has been faulted for keeping citizens in the dark,Government keeps public in the dark: Critics | The Star quote: If we're not supposed to know how this works, how come you have that knowledge? Lets keep that to ourselves.

Does the fact that Joe Biden thought that Pakistan deployed nuclear weapons against its enemies count for anything? And he never said such a thing in that transcript. He did say:
quote: Which is, of course, completely true.

Nice debunking! But even if HM HAD been correct in his characterization, the point still stands that it is a FAR CRY from the example of an grown woman, Governor of a state, not having the same geographic knowledge of the vast majority of elementary school students.
It is also extrodinarly dangerous because the differences between Sudan and South Africa for example are vast. This woman would not be able to pay for her plane ticket from her winnings on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader." Although she would probably be super stoked to meet Jeff Foxworthy.
