You have no idea. She did indeed unite the righ wing of the party (losing the centrists and independents in the interin). The republican party will go through an autophagic process. The infight between the right and the center of the republican party will be very interesting to watch. It had alredy started before the election. It will intensify now.

yes there was clearly a better choice, Romney, who pundits thought would be the obvious choice. Not only for V.P. but for the presidential position too.
The problem was that McCain truely dislikes Romney and would rather had had Joe Liberman, but the base wouldn't accept him and would likely stay home. Palin was a last minute choice. An atempt to square that circle. How to bring the base out without alienating the center? It failed.
Thats the way the system works, it is important to keep us in the dark and distracted. We are not suppose to fully understand American politics, or politics in general for that matter. The thinking is that we as citizens are too stupid to know whats good for us, and the country, so we are guilded ever so gently like cattle to where they feel we should be.

I think there is a 50/50 chance they will move towards the right instead, depending on which side wins the internal battle that is sure to happen in the republican party. Don't forget to grab the popcorn to better enjoy the show

Even if we take the second sense of the word deploy (and I do think that's the one Biden intended), it still isn't a gaffe because Pakstan did indeed deploy nuclear wepons in a test site. (But not against other countries).

So you think Biden meant that Pakistan actually used nukes against its enemies?
If I remember it correctly, Biden does not say "against their enemies". He simply said "deployed wepons". And that much is indeed true, So I don't see anything wrong with it.

(2) I live in Illinois, a state that is blue no matter what happens.
(3) Currently, I feel my vote doesn't count at all. After all, that's what the electoral system does.
What's the difference between (2) and (3)?

And mine didn't count either, but it still contributed to to 20% of voters in this county that went for our new president-elect. And shit, we got texas up to 45% blue!
Keep on voting. The day Texas will turn blue will come sooner rather then later, thanks to us latinos... That will be a shoker for many conservatives.

All of which makes her a crafty politician. Just what do you expect from politics? I've seen interviews with Sarah that appeared to be candid and honest enough for me. I didn't see any Richard Nixon in her, or any George W. I saw a young mother of five who was as genuine and authentic as anybody can be in politics, even if she stands opposit to some of my key liberal values. I don't see much of a Nixon in her either, but I see a lot of W in her. Like him, she seams to believe that god is guiding her hand and chosing her as his earthly tool. Like him, she shows a comtempt for science and Higher education. even the way that she misspronounces Nuclear reminds me of him. (that was not an complete list of things about her that remind me of him. I'm too busy for that right now. may be later).
But, hey, if you call yourself a Democrat and bought the Bill
Clinton bullshit then you wouldn't see what I see in Sarah Palin.

I don't think she's bad for believing in God. And I don't think she's bad for falling in line with Republican politics. Why is she so bad for disagreeing with your politics?
I don't fault her for those things. I have a lot of respect for Mike Huckabee who is also person of faith who falls in line with most of the Republican politics. But I think Huckabee understands and respects the fact that other people may have different points of view then him, the same way that I respect his points of views. I don`t think Palin respects my points of views.
