Go Granny Go!
Message 3
Granny lays it out and covers, I think all the bases.
Summarized here:
Granny Magda writes:
Religion on the other hand, does have value in answering subjective questions, but this value is not unique to religion. Furthermore, religion is a double-edged sword; its explanatory value is countered by its tendency to spew out wrong answers, often to questions that it has no business answering in the first place. Philosophy and literature serve this purpose far better.

Re: Go Granny Go!
Thanks Ned for the early Christmas present. I really appreciate it, especially coming from an experienced debater such as yourself.
I don't actually think that I said anything terribly original. I just hope that I laid out the argument clearly. Hopefully, it will provoke some interesting discussion.
AbE; thanks as well to Bluescat48. I'm glad it meets with your approval.

Thread: Does the Bible say the Earth was created in 6 days, 6000 years ago?
Message 81
I think God's job in Genesis is to communicate the essentials of the origin of the world in a way accessible to the greatest number of people.
Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Change link from "m=61#81" to "m=81#81", for those who don't have message 61 and message 81 on the same page.
