Re: Gen 1:1 thru 2:3 'Yom'
What would constitute a day from a heavenly vantage point, and, how would it be different to someone witnessing it on earth?

Re: Gen 1:1 thru 2:3 'Yom'
a scripture in Ezekiel says that 'one day is as a thousand years and 1,000 years is as 1 day'
if you are on earth, a day is seen as the sun moving through the sky, it rises in the east and sets in the west...and that is 1 day.
but if you were watching from out in space, you wouldnt see the sun moving around the planet... you would see the planet slowly spin on its axis ... big difference.

Not really, you would see the earth rotate once each 24 hr period, which would still be a day.

I don't think that heavenly version of a day vs earthly would be relevant (no offense), because God would have relayed the information to us using the terms we understand. If He says "morning" and "evening" and "day", I don't think he'd be trying to fool anyone. He could have just as easily indicated that it was a "time" if He wanted to be vague. Previous forum posters have shown that the Hebrew doesn't indicate any odd usage of the word, so I think we're stuck with approximately 24 hr days (if anything, they would have been slightly shorter previously, since the earth's rotation is gradually slowing due to transference of energy to the moon).

The planet spinning on its axis (once around) is equal to one day, no matter where your vantage point is, there is no difference.
Back to the original question though, you seem to suggest that one day is equal to one thousand years. If this is the case, are we to consider *every* mention of "one day" in the Bible as "one thousand years"? If not, what makes Ezekiel's scripture only valid for this particular context and not others?
