The problem, John, is that you are the only one who seems to think so. Usually, if everybody tells you you are wrong, you most probably are. I know you won't see it that way, but that's the way things work. Oh, and I read those verses, and I don't think they're an answer at all, they're unsupported non-sequiturs, that's what they are.
I should have said, "If you can understand the Bible verses I quoted, you will see that I answered his question."
The issue of concern is Satan's influence, and how does one know if it's Satan that's deceiving someone. The verse you quote where Satan works “with all power and signs and lying wonders” comes from 2 Thess 2:9. If you will notice in the verse just before this it says “the Lord will slay (this lawless one) with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end (Satan’s power) by the appearance of His coming.” So this is not a contest where Satan’s power is equal to God’s power. The only power Satan and his demons have is the power that is permitted by God.
In the verses I quoted in James 4:7, we are told to “resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” This truth applies to God’s children who first submit to God, not to unbelievers who have no relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
