Summations Only

We have a LACK of belief concerning God. Religion makes a positive statement, "I believe X." Atheism does not, "I have no reason to believe X, Y or Z." They are the exact opposite, as shown by the "a" at the beginning of the word. Something that is amoral isn't professing a morality, because that is the exact opposite of what amoral means.This is one of my biggest pet peeves; people claiming that atheism is a religion when it is the exact opposite of a religion. Even worse is claiming that science is a religion, but I hope we need not get into that one.Edited by Perdition, : sp

I'm an example:
I don't believe in God. I'm an atheist. Why don't I believe in God?
There has been absolutely no evidence for a god, a fairy, a genie, magical elves, etc and so I dismiss them until such evidence is provided.I don't believe it is possible to prove that God doesn't exist and I hold to the fact that it is possible a god exists, and should enough evidence come forth to convince me, then I will change my mind. I'm agnostic.I don't claim enough knowledge to "know" that there is no god because knowledge cannot prove a negative of that type. I do claim not to believe.
