If you go to the most recent message in a topic, you are at the URL of that specific message.
Now, say you see a message that is 3 messages up. Before that message was identified (the URL) as being in a certain forum (number designation) and a certain message number.
The way it is now, there doesn't seem to be any good way to create a URL for a link to that message.

Added by edit: Didn't these changes just render hoards of links all over the internet, to evcforum.net messages, to now be worthless?

Getting some value out of the old URL's

RAZD has just posted the following in another "S&Q" topic:
Is there any way to translate old links to the appropriate threads and messages?
If we can at least link messages then threads would be linked to the "m=1#1" at the end.
I have a lot of bookmarks that are now invalid.
It would be nice if, somehow, the old version of the topic address could still get you to the proper topic. Percy probably does need another project to occupy empty time in his life.
