Decided to leave EvC participation for a long old time, if not permanantly.
I enjoyed debating at times. I find I am challenged almost into a position of being neutral.
Obviously I am Christian, heavily Christian, and believe the bible is true, however it happened. I do not rule out an evolution of some sort.
But I think essentially, it comes down to beliefs. One can only assess things based on their own thinking, and what others say. But it seems that both creationists and evolutionists won't agree on even the details so in the end you start to think, "am I going insane".
So yes - it's more attitude/beliefs, than intellect.
Sorry if I don't respond to any posts. Kind regards, irrefutable one.

Damn, when I saw the title I seriously thought you were about to go to another planet. Then I read the OP and was greatly disappointed to realize the truth that I will still be living on the same planet as you.
What does it matter? He's not going to read this post anyway.

He'll be back
What does it matter? He's not going to read this post anyway.
O yes, he is. He's not only irrefutable, he's also incorrigible.
Anyway, he's not going to stop lurking until he has at least ten posts in this thread to see what we think of his departure.
And in the long run, he'll be back. And welcome.
(Sorry Mike, for my derogatory remark the other day. You're an OK fellow. See you around some time.)

"Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge: it is those who know little, not those who know much, who so positively assert that this or that problem will never be solved by science." - Charles Darwin.

If Mike has gone for a period, I home he comes back much more like his previous incarnation as the confused, faith-challenged, not-sure-if-I'm-a-theist - great guy, and extremely pleasant. This time around he managed to move all that torment onto us

A born-yet-again Christian? There's an idea...
added by edit:
By the way, cavediver, why are you a four and I a five? That's not right. If I'm a five, you should be off the scale. Someone has been messing with the rating system.

I think Mike may have the answer when he pointed out that I just seem to be rather angry these days I must admit that between Buzsaw and ICANT, 95% of my enthusiasm for droning on about maths/physics has been kicked out of me. However, I'm slowly recovering, and your comments are a big help Thanks

4.3 and counting...
Thanks
You're welcome.
(Have you noticed your rating has mysteriously gone up? I wonder how that happened.)

Did you really think he was going to another planet, or was that your shot at being funny? Mike is a cool dude, even though we don't agree with him, he sticks to his point and is alway polite. You, Taz, on the other hand are a complete and total asshole who no one likes. That's the sad part. People would actually care more about a creationist that disagrees with them than you, an obnoxious douche bag with no point to make on any thread ever...

Re: He'll be back
Hi Cavediver,
Just jumping in regarding your last post . . . please don't get disgruntled. There are people here who read the science topics and learn from them, even if the creationists don't appreciate the buffet of knowledge on offer. I'm curious about both your specialty subjects and I've been wondering if you're planning to qualify your recent comments about Einstein being wrong about E=MC2 . . . you throw these tidbits out to creationists who don't care and I want to say, Explain please, this is interesting!

Re: He'll be back
Thanks LL Happy to explain anything and everything. Find a good open Cosmology topic and drop any questions there. And I certainly didn't mean to imply that Einstein was wrong - there was not much that Albert was wrong about in his early glory days - but modern interpretations of what he said and wrote are often wrong.

Post Title?
How does your post relate to "He'll be Back"? I don't see a mention of Arnold there at all.

What worries me, is when you mentioned Arnold, my first thought was Palmer!!! Now where did that come from?

I'll add that I always find your cosmology/physics posts to be utterly fascinating, even when I'm not participating in a given thread. You're one of the reasons I enjoy this forum so much.
