So every single person who gets buried, goes to hell?
I have the same hypothesis, except a tad different: the ground is where you go when you die. End of story. No afterlife. Stop all. dead. Done. Nothing.

yes, every single person who gets buried goes to hell because thats what hell is. Its the hole in the ground where we are buried. The churchs changed the meaning of it during the dark ages to scare people.
the bible says jesus went to hell for 3 days. He was in 'hades'
Hades is the word they translate to 'hell'
Hades was the place of the dead, or the state of being dead. Its also related to Sheol which is the hole in the ground where people get buried.

Some asked about the nature of a Spirit. The greek word for spirit is pneuma which means BREATH or WIND. So think of a spirit as a being as light as AIR. (yet, still having mass)

Right, but you can't see it even a few inches away because the photons are only on the surface.
That's what a black hole looks like from the outside (beyond the event horizon). But the question is what would the black hole look like from the inside? I am no expert, but surely the reason it is black is that light falls into it. So it seems to me (I speak subject to correction by anyone with the requisite physics) that if you were in a black hole and looked out towards the event horizon, you would see stars. From the inside, then, it would not be dark.

And no evidence has been offered in this whole thread that even hints there is such a thing as hell.

Yes - the event horizon is only defined globally, not locally (in other words, you need an outside-time god's eye view to determine its existence). An in-falling observer will think she is simply falling through space external to the black hole, towards an ever receeding event horizon, until arrival at the singularity.

Can The Souls Exist on it's Own
Here is a paper by NT Wright on the whole concept of body, soul etc. It's a tad heavy going but here it is for those who are interested.
Mind Spirit Soul Body

Bottomless Pit Like
For what it's worth, Revelation 20:1-3 ASV says this:
Revelation 20:1-3:
quote:
1 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,
3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it, and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time.
I'm not making any determination on this. When I read that chapter black holes come to mind.

Where is a bottomless pit mentioned in your quote?

Whoops! I remembered that from the KJV which uses the term, "bottomless pit." The ASV rendering is "abyss." According to both of my Greek-English interlinears, the Nestlies and the Received Texts, "abyss" is the literal rendering. There may or may not be any relevance to the topic, but perhaps so. The consensus seems to be that black holes do have a bottom of sorts and could be construed as an abyss.

Does this realization come before or after spaghettification?

Given the plethora of brainless comments plaguing EvC recently, I would say for some it could be either
You can easily avoid "spaghettification" simply by choosing a large enough black hole. The tidal stresses around the event horizon of a typical galactic centre SuperMassive Black Hole (SMBH) are miniscule, and you can quite happily float your way down towards the singularity for some time before any danger of being shredded.

I guess the obvious question is, "Can you happily float back out again?"
'Cause if you can, it probably isn't a literal Hell.

Neither happily nor otherwise, I'm afraid. It may be a more comfortable trip down the hole, but the singularity has got you firmly in its grasp...
