Probably the most embarrassing is the fact that I LOVE Survivor. I completely hate all other reality TV, but during the Survivor season my whole family becomes obsessed, it is a good part of our conversation, etc.

Heh, I'm in!

Wife and I love to make fun of them and their drama. "Oh, it's so hard to live out here, they don't give us anything..." Yeah... and why do none of the girls have any hair on their legs? Why do they always have make-up on?

But the drama is the best. Especially the guy who got kicked off last week who, like, lived in that tree-hole. We laughed at him.

I always wonder how many people write "Jeff Probst" at Tribal Council. I know I would.

"Guys! If I told you once, I've told you a thousand times... you can't vote me off, I'm the host!
Okay... onto the next vote, then...
Jeff Pr... GUYS!!"

We made the error a few times of discussing it outside of our family, and got to hear the whole "it is exploitive..." lecture.

Yeah... don't do that

Some folks just don't understand that you can watch a show to simply enjoy the company together (we talk throughout the whole show) and not really care if it's real/good/useful/whatever.

I love music from the 80's, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Softcell, Berlin...anything New Wave with lots of synthesizers and drum machines.

Glam metal, Motley Crew, Twisted Sister, Quite Riot...etc.

MTV circa 1980's

Women's fashion and hairstyles from the 80's.

Valley Girls

Weird Al Yankovic

Disco (now I'm really blushing.)

Wearing women's underpants.

Re: Guilty pleasures....
The only thing I have against reality shows like Survivor is that they take away TV spots for actors who would otherwise have a job if the networks didn't flood the market with reality shows.

Networks don't have to pay shit to the shows cast, at all, so they save themselves lots of money and still get the advertising money.

As a friend to many out of work actors I can tell you that the Networks are fucking actors hard with these reality shows, and for that reason (and only that reason) I never watch them - except Top Chef but that's not on a Network.

Guilty Pleasures
Music would be Dido and Bon Jovi.

Oh my god! If I were your father I would disown you.

But I have to agree with Stile, this site is the guiltiest of pleasures that no one close to me knows about.

Yep me too!

Although I get asked at work what that eternal dark blue backgrounded website that I keep minimising whenever anyone appoaches me is..... And my missus refers to my time here as "conversing with the sect".

Basically nobody knows that I am here.........(Phew!)

I know, I know - I'm ashamed of it myself. And it sucks cuz it creeps up on me. I'll be at a bar, not being totally gay, until a Jovi song starts, then I turn into an insane Jersey girl and sing every fuck'n word. Its sad.

If you come to London and start kareokeing "cock rock" or MOTRD at the first opportunity you are on your own.

Save yourself the explanation and tell them its porn.

I manage the internet access where I work......

So that will be all too believable.....

Bioware is the shit
Huntard writes:

RPG's are the best games ever made.

I got Bioware's new CRPG title "Dragon Age: Origins" as soon as it came out a few weeks ago. Totally hooked. That in conjunction with work and other projects is why I've been pretty quiet on evc lately. I'd be pretty embarrassed if people found out how much time I've poured into that game over the past weeks.

Ok Ok, fair enough. I'll contain my love for pussy rock; wouldn't want to out do any Brit singing Boy George tunes.

Re: Guilty pleasures....
I have to agree on Star Trek. I'm guilty of attending several Trekkie conventions and actually dressing for them. Have friends that organized the "Klingon" Security group to protect the actors and the fan artifacts (inside people that know what is valuable compared to the average security guard who could care less if you walk out with a certain comic or two).

Also Science Fiction conventions (met Asimov, Anderson, GR Dickson, AEvanVogt, and many others). Also won "most beautiful" award for costumes at one: skin tight green outfit to portray a seafarin world denizen. Sorry, no pictures.

Being alone.

and certainly this site, no question, no doubts, my family all (well except one who has been sucked into the vortex) wonder why I spend so much time on it.

Chocolate ice cream (without sprinkles, hate them) especially now that my cancer diet means absolutely NO sugar.

Coffee.

Enjoy.

Hey I know BG!

Sorry, didn't mean to insult your man 'BG' like that ... easy buddy, don't get your flamboyant feathers ruffled up.

True. True. Better that than the Evc Truth though.

Honestly, I think people would just ask me why I cared so much about this subject to argue it obsessively, and I'd have no reasonable answer to tell them that they "get". I'd just say "cuz I want to!" Then I'd go out in a Blaze of Glory!*
