Re: Requesting Moderator Assistance Again
I don't really think Smooth Operator can be coaxed into a more collegial form of participation, but if any moderators get a bolt of insight then please give it a try.
You're all arguing with an imbecile who truly believes that the entire Universe spins around us once evry 24 hrs, and you're all making one unholy and unreadable mess in the process. Why? Can you not just ignore him?

Imbicile is okay, if annoying. Rude is just wrong.

Re: Requesting Moderator Assistance Again
This is a good advice, and since in his last reply to me he seems to have gone even further off the deep end I think I'll follow it.
As I said before, it would be nice to have moderator help, but SO may not be amenable to moderation, and he's mostly harmless anyway, so I don't think it's important that a moderator intervene.

Hindu-Muslim
Seriously guys, when are you gonna step in and put a stop to Smooth Operator's "Hindu-Muslim" rants? It's been going on for a couple of days now pretty much non-stop on the ID thread.
4-5 times PER post. Multiple posts a day.

Remember, the guy's from Stormfront. Idiotic bigotry is to be expected.
Next he'll start refuting arguments by suggesting his opponent is of a non-Caucasian race.

Re: Hindu-Muslim
Expected, fine. But EVERY sentence in a post? In multiple posts?
I remember a time when people got 3 days suspensions for disagreeing with Peg.
I guess it's the wild west now. Time to start dropping F bombs and N words, try and get the natives all agitated.

Re: Hindu-Muslim
As a participant in the thread I wasn't going to moderate SO at all for anything he was doing in his discussion with me, and I wasn't paying much attention to his subthreads with others. SO's posts run on and on and on, so if you can call my attention to a couple examples of the more serious problems I'll see if I can muster some moderator help, and if not then I'll step in myself since I've withdrawn as a participant.

He's back again...
Retard Mabus back at it again

I hunt for the truth
I am the one Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.

It's not actually a problem, but I'm wondering whether you've changed the font for the thread titles or whether I'm just imagining it.
It suddenly seems different ... smaller, rounder, and fatter ... but so subtly so that I'm 50:50 on thinking that maybe it's just my imagination. Please clear this up one way or the other, 'cos it's bugging me.

No fonts have changed recently, but an impending update introducing the private messaging feature will use smaller font sizes than people are accustomed to seeing here.

Socrates in Hell
Message 14
Can someone help get Roger Pearse to post messages with content? He's a mediocre software consultant, but he has done a lot of important work making early Christian writings available online, and he corresponds with some pretty important people (believe me.) So he would probably make a real asset to the site.
But he doesnt seem to get the idea of the "debate" format. He also keeps flooding the XMas thread with short unsubstantiated messages, mostly criticizing other posters about their form. He's doing the Socratic thing as well, it reminds me of whoever that was in the Mormon thread who hasn't come back.
I've tried showing him what a well-constructed one-line response feels like, and why it isn't helpful, but he still doesn't seem to get the idea.
Thanks!

Re: Los Spammos?
I didn't dig into the material at the linked site, but my impression is that it is at least vaguely on topic. Sort of a "drive by preaching" via a link.
I suspect we'll not hear from the poster again, and if we do, it might prove interesting.
I say, let it pass without any action.
