Already on the list. I plan to do this at the same time I automate the thread proposal process.

Hi all!
I've just installed a minor update, but it affected every code module. The naming scheme for global variables has changed. If you notice a problem please post here. The URL shortening code was also modified. It now makes better decisions about how best to shorten a long URL. For example, links with text like this:
http://muse.jhu.edu/login?uri=/journals/review_of_higher_education/v032/32.3.orazem.html http://www.scribd.com/doc/6889050/Nizkor-Project-Fallacies-Labossier Become links like this:

The new [HTML] and [NOPARSE] dBCodes have just been implemented. Some may already be familiar with these codes from other boards, but if not you can find short descriptions at HTML dBCode and NOPARSE dBCode.
Has anyone ever seen a board with a truly fully functional [LATEX] code?

That's fascinating. I have no idea why this stopped working. I'll try to look at it tonight. In the meantime, just doing an edit/submit on these posts fixes the problem.

Problem was due to obscure database table locking rules, fixed now.

I've just installed a minor update fixing a couple minor bugs.
More significantly, it also adds useful functionality to the [list] dBCode. See the documentation at List dBCode for details, here's a list of the new features:

This should be fixed, please let me know if not.
Thanks for reporting this - I need more people like you and Moose and few others who will take the time to report minor issues, but I need to find and fix these things to have a quality product.

Parasomnium writes: The only thing I'd like changed about the Latinate lists is the alignment of the numerals, like this:
I. First II. Second III. Third I wish this were as easy as it might seem. There don't seem to be any CSS properties for positioning the item value. Imagine how your mechanic might react when you ask him to move the steering wheel from the left to the right side of your car. Maybe someone out there has some ideas for how to at least somewhat easily do this. In case someone might find it useful, let me add that this would be relatively easy to do:
I. First II. Second III. Third

Parasomnium writes: ...but if it's not all CSS tinkering... Yep, it's all "CSS tinkering." The browser has complete control over list marker alignment. I could create my own lists from scratch and provide better control for users, but it would be a much bigger effort. One capability I made no provision for was custom images in place of the disc, circle and square for unordered lists, but this probably wouldn't be hard to do.

Parasomnium writes: How do you feed it the Roman numerals? Or does the browser create them itself? The browser does all the rendering. All I do is specify the starting value and whether it's numeric, alphabetic (upper or lower case), or Roman numerals (upper or lower case). The CSS specification includes other alphabet options, and Greek and Hebrew seem to work in the Chrome browser, so just for grins I've added those. Click peek to see how it's done:

I noticed the problem you had with your last new topic proposal and fixed the problem a couple hours ago. You shouldn't see this problem anymore, but please let me know if it pops up again.

Good point. You cannot nest dBCodes right now. No dBCodes can appear inside the brackets of a dBCode. Naturally dBCodes can appear in the region between begin and end dBCodes.
Given how the code is structured this would be easy to provide, as long as a search for exception cases and how to handle them didn't reveal anything complicated. I have for a long time wanted to be able to do this:
[qs=[mbrid=3954] in [mid=545414]] I'll put this on the todo list.
