Greetings,
Are energy and matter the same thing? It seems a few people think matter has a capacity to do work and some don't. I propose that energy when bound together forms bonds that eventually build up to form matter. However, matter certainly does not have a capacity to do work unless the bonds are broken. This breaking of the bonds requires outside energy so therefor matter has no capacity to do work. To me energy is essentially, metaphorically speaking and perhaps literally as well, just momentum. Am I right or wrong?
I hope to see cavediver, catholic scientist, devilsadvocate, modulus, buzsaw, percy, paulk and mark24 involved here.
p.s. I propose this topic because it seems we keep going off topic here.
