Local Funny Lines
In Message 28,

I've been meaning to go to the eye doctor to see whether or not my recent blurred night vision is due to medication or just to advancing age. Now, apparently, I'll have to go on emergency basis, as my eyes have rolled so far back in my head that the optic nerves are twanging like guitar strings.
Good one. I was really distracted and didn't see it comming.

Before I address your post allow me a short prayer: Thank God this is in Free For All. Amen
Instant classic! The amount of ridicule I feel I'm detecting, while not way-too-much smartassness. And succinct, I love it!

I wasn't going to post this, but I thought it's too funny to pass up.

Hooah, you'd likely ascribe to much of the idiology of leftist talk show host, Ed Shults who'd like to rip Dick Cheney's heart out and kick it around.
All ideological camps have these nutjobs. You choose to ignore all of the benevolent things Christians do in the world. Your impetus appears to be airing anything you can dig up against Christains and Christianity.
subbie writes:
Buz old bean, you've set a new standard. In a post of 4 sentences, you've managed to make 4 different debating errors. Well done.
First sentence, poisoning the well.
Second sentence, tu quoque.
Third sentence, changing the subject.
Fourth sentence, ad hominem.
I chuckled for a couple minutes after reading that.
Edit.

Re: Who Moved New Zealand?
With all the rain we've been having lately I just knew someone had moved my town, city, metroplex, all of it, to Seattle. I've been accusing the city council (one of them has a sister who's son's uncle is some kind of political big wig somewhere and I think somewhat of a land swap deal was involved). I may have been right after all.
I'm hoping that in moving an entire continent someone would have noticed the ropes and found out who was doing the actual moving. All I need do now is find the people who know who did the actual moving, confront the people who did the actual moving, recover the public's tax dollars paid them by the city council and use that money to pay them to move us back to the desert where we belong.

Go ahead Tazmanian Devil. Spread the vindictive crap around where ever you can. To be fair it would be nice to accompany it with the response:

What, you can't appreciate humor? Let's admit it, it's funny. On a debate forum, you managed to insert 4 logical fallacies in 4 sentences... back to back. It's funny on the same line as that thread titled "no future" where the thread originator decided to put his thread off for an indefinite amount of time... meaning the thread itself literally had no future.
Added by edit.
If it makes you feel better, my popularity here only surpasses you by .1 point.

The alleged fallacies may appear logical on the surface but they were debatable, vindictive and demeaning. They were not funny. They were strawmen so far as my point to which they were suppose to apply.

LoL. That's nothing to crow about, given the vast majority of members share your idiology and precious few share mine.

They were not funny.
Oh, I don't know, Buz. I've read many relatively less funny exchanges.
And c'mon, if you can't laugh at yourself, who ... oh, never mind.

Ha, for your information, my ideas are considered somewhere from borderline liberal wacko to outright insane.

Punch lines
I have always thought that a comedian that just stood up on stage and gave the punch lines to jokes would be hilarious. Even jokes you don't know could be fun as you try to imagine the joke.
Some of my favorite punchlines
So Mickey says to the judge
"I didn't say she was crazy, I said she was fucking Goofy"
Wreckedum? damn near killed him.
The mechanic says to the Penguin
" Looks like you blew a seal"
The penguin wipes off his mouth and says
"No really it's ice cream."

http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/
I had the toughest time deciding whether this site is legit or some kind of parody. It's just so over the top fundy that it calls CS Lewis a satanic heretic, calls the pope the vicar of hell, lambasts the "new world order", raves against alcohol, disney, public schools. Goes without saying that it's antievolution as well.
In short, I couldn't help but feel that I was looking at the contents of Kent Hovind's brain smeared out on a website. I can't decide if I should laugh, or get sick in a bucket.
PS. I'm not responsible if your computer decides to vomit on you.
ABE:
On whether Christians should own a television, the site says:
quote:
Personally, I think it depends upon the individual. For example: some women have a tendency to become lazy and sit around watching soap operas instead of getting their housework done. In such a case, I think, a Christian woman ought to not have a TV, unless she can discipline herself concerning what and when she watches TV.
Made me LOL.
