Buz writes: DC85 writes: atheistic and secular is an oxymoron. Most atheists support a secular position however. A secular System protects everyone's freedom No it doesn't. It denys religious people the freedom to exercise religion relative to whatever extent the elected reps decide upon. Buz writes: I'm well aware of that, Coyote. That's why I've alluded to the people's elected reps. You're aware of fuckall, you drooling excuse for a sentient being. A Constitutional republic means that all people, even those with nothing more than a functioning brainstem, such as yourself, have rights that the majority cannot take away, no matter how many of them you pile up in one place. It utterly amazes me that you were able to amass such a collection of wrong ideas in just 70 years. You must have been taking graduate level stupid courses since you were 3. someone's ox is going to be gored. Why? Why is it hard for you as a Christian to have the same rights as everyone else? How is telling a Teacher that thye can pray but they may not lead a class with people from every walk of life in a prayer? The only thing getting gored is your ability to push your beliefs on everyone in a state facility.
Some of us would like some balance in the classroom so as to teach the positives and negatives of all beliefs. Ok then all beliefs must be taught... I do hope you have a while because we need to teach all religious beliefs now. Not just yours
so long as that's what the majority wants. It doesn't matter what the majority wants in these issues these a guaranteed rights and in order to protect them the government must stay neutral. The Bill of rights exist to protect some minorities from the majority. Edited by DC85, : No reason given. Edited by DC85, : spelling Edited by DC85, : No reason given.

The Constitution does not forbid the exercise of religion in government facilities. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T. It forbids the forbidding of it. That is one of the many reasons why it is not in fact forbidden.

I expect at any moment, for reasons that should be clear to anyone reading this thread, to spend some time in the corner. In the event that a thread opens up for POTM nominations before my time has run, would someone please nominate Dr. Adequate's concise but thorough refutation on my behalf?

One thing this thread has demonstrated is how America has changed in the last 60 years. There was a day when the Buz statements here would be understood and accepted by the majority.
I pitty ye yunguns. Brace youselves for what's coming. I pray for you all. It's notagona be pretty for America, nor for the planet, for that matter due to global apostacy in general. The end times are upon the planet as Jesus readies himself for the soon to come 2nd advent. The 2000 millennium will become the messianic millennium. God/Jehovah said it so I can guarrantee it. Call me a liar now, but I shall be vindicated in the not too distant by and by. BUZSAW B 4 U 2 C Y BUZ SAW. It's not "What Use To Be," you illiterate baboon! It's "What Used To Be."
If you're going to insist on saying imbecilic things, would you at least do me the courtesy of learning to speak the fucking language better than a 4 year old? Srsly! {AbE} While I'm at it.... It's whose, not who's and loser, not looser in message 15. And message 51! "purpose of these were" should be "purpose of these was" in message 31. It's denies, not denys in message 48. And all of that just in this thread! And stop saying "relative to." They're weasel words. For the love of Strunk and White, take a remedial class in grammar. Actually, you'll probably need to take two, one to unlearn all of your cretinous errors and the second to learn the right way to speak. Edited by subbie, : as noted. Buz, the "end times" have been predicted almost annually for about 2,000 years. Probably more often of late.
The only consistent fact is that those predictions have all been wrong. Every last one of them. And in every case, there were a number of people, sometimes a lot of people, who believed just as strongly as you do. But you are the best argument I've heard lately for fighting to keep a secular state. I really would not like to see young children exposed to your brand of belief. It would be healthier to let them run with sharp objects. Religious belief does not constitute scientific evidence, nor does it convey scientific knowledge.

If you're thinking of the Salem Witch Trials, then I would venture to suggest that even they wouldn't have swallowed your crap.
I pitty ye yunguns. Brace youselves for what's coming. I pray for you all. If your prayers were at all effective, you wouldn't be reduced to screaming about how much you hate everything on the Internet.
The 2000 millennium will become the messianic millennium. ... though perhaps a little late. Apparently punctuality is not one of God's virtues.
Call me a liar now, but I shall be vindicated in the not too distant by and by. If you'd care to place a more precise date on that, I'm up for a little wager.

Let's all take a breath and notice something. Everyone's popularity points have gone down because of this thread.
Added by edit. Except for mine. It actually went up by 0.3. Edit again. Dr. A's went down by 0.6. Just an observation. Edited by Taz, : No reason given. Edited by Taz, : No reason given.
