Hi Dr. Sing,The other comments you received are correct, the system will eventually be replaced. A more accurate description is that the feature will be enhanced so that board administrators can choose from a range of possibilities. For this board I plan to choose an option that automates our Post of the Month process.As to when this will happen, I can't be sure. It's just me coding away in my study, and right now my priority is on productization.

Faith espouses a number of views that to many seem both externally and internally inconsistent, and so her threads tend to attract many participants. She is very thoughtful and articulate, but she also tends to interpret disagreement and inability to make sense of her position as antagonism. This causes many of her threads to self-destruct in an explosion of what to many appear to be uninstigated recriminations. Faith usually quickly recovers from these episodes.Hopefully this background information will help discussion move forward more smoothly, but keep in mind that you could become very invested in a discussion that blows up and never resumes.

It's not uncommon for threads to not fit neatly into existing forums. The OP includes a Bible reference, so maybe PD would consider moving the thread to the The Bible: Accuracy and Inerrancy forum, which is in the science category.

Hi Hooah212002!The board's control panel has a "merge member accounts" function. When David Mabus creates a new email and registers a new account under it, once we detect it (usually instantly) we merge his new account with his old one. Since the old one is already suspended he becomes instantly suspended. The new account name is added to his list of aliases.We could ban by IP address, but IP addresses have become very fluid, and we tend not to do that anymore. You have to be very certain that someone has a fixed IP, and fixed IP's are rare these days. Someone could also have home and work and other computers, and there are IP masking utilities freely available.--Percy

Sorry, Phage0070, I can't help you. Dr Adequate is a a master of sarcasm and irony, and he has the advantage over most of us in these aspects of rhetoric. He's been suspended many times, but I don't think he's crossed the threshold yet in that thread. I look for a pattern or sequence of messages where substance is almost or completely absent and mostly just style is left.

Good question. Hopefully comments like this will help Dr Adequate see that he's alienating even those who share his opinions.But in Dr A's defense, when he's so inclined his contributions are rational and based upon evidence, so like many of us he's a mixed bag, though maybe his opposite poles are further apart than most.
