Re: BOM vs Bible
I was waiting for you to chime in Buz, so I could correct GM by saying thatyou are obviously the only true christian. Anyone not Buz is a phony.
{abe}
For the life of me, I can't understand how intelligent folks can't see through the Smith's jibberish. It's not even good literature, but alas, deception is powerful.
Do you see the irony in this statement, Buz? I sure do.
Edited by hooah212002, : No reason given.

"Some people think God is an outsized, light-skinned male with a long white beard, sitting on a throne somewhere up there in the sky, busily tallying the fall of every sparrow. Othersfor example Baruch Spinoza and Albert Einsteinconsidered God to be essentially the sum total of the physical laws which describe the universe. I do not know of any compelling evidence for anthropomorphic patriarchs controlling human destiny from some hidden celestial vantage point, but it would be madness to deny the existence of physical laws."-Carl Sagan

Re: BOM vs Bible
So, define a true christian in your own words, will you hooah?
I'm not the one who has a "no true scotsman fallacy" problem.
{abe}
See, dr., the difference is, I am not the one who makes the absurd statement that every time an "alleged" christian fucks up, he/she is not a "true" christian. If you believe in god of the christian bible, guess what? You are a christian.
I see the comedy has been left out to dry here as you lot feel attacked. Lighten up. I still stand by my statement that Buz is obviously the only true christian. ever.

Dr. Sing Sing writes:
It would have been ironical had he not included the expression
"alas". That tells me that he feels sorry that deception is often powerful enough to fool even the intelligent ones...and that the phrase"I can't understand how..." is more of a expression of feeling sorry rather than lacking the mental intellectual capacity to understand how....
here, let me rephrase what Buz said so i can clarify the irony that was lost on you.

Get it now? I say the same thing Buz says about any religion (albeit mainly chrisitanity).

Re: BOM vs Bible
You need to pay attention, Hooah, to the number of times I refer to my brethren/brothers and or sisters (in Christ Jesus), i.e. the elect and that I support my persecuted black Christian brothers and sisters in Africa, etc.
Ah, there's the racist bigot we all know and love. What the hell does race have to do with anything?

Re: BOM vs Bible
Ahh, don't you wish it were that simple, hooah?
It is that simple. Like I said, it is not i who hs the "no true scotsman fallacy" problem.
No wonder you get all your facts about Christianity wrong.
Please, point out one thing I have stated about christianity that is factually wrong, rather than wrong in your opinion. You do know the difference, yes? Every single one of you christians has a different set of beliefs, yet you all live your lives according to the same damn book.
Hey...you're cheating. If you're gonna talk about religious scriptures, then say bhagavad gita......hindus are people who adhere to its teachings, not pieces of literature.
Thanks.
OF course you would, darling. For you don't even understand what religion is.
Ah right, so not only does your no true scotsman fallacy apply to christianity, now it extends to religion as a whole.
What should I say to someone who thinks God doesn't exist because He's not physically observed?....other than you have serious mental problems.
I believe YOU have the mental problems for believing in fairy tales.
Should I think that you don't understand faith, or that you are mentally derailed?
You are welcome to any opinion of me you like. However, how christ like is it for you to call one "mentally de-railed"?

Re: BOM vs Bible
When I asked hooah, I was wanting to know whether or not he had the Biblical one.
1: I don't believe shit in the bible.
2: There are far, far too many interperetations of any given bible to say that it is a valid source of information regarding what it takes to be a true christian. If you all came to a conclusion on what it says, then we can talk. Until then, it is rote with disinformation as far as I am concerned.
