There is no "undercurrent" of racism among the objectors to this administration. There is no doubt SOME racism, but I haven't personally seen any (not that I get out much) and I see none on the conservative blogs. I think it is mostly imagined, as seems to be coming out on this thread. I don't see even the strangest of the signs as racist, over the top in other ways maybe, but not racist.

I am willing to admit that it might not be nigger. It may be another word. That's nice.
There have been many people that have stated they heard nigger. You're one of them.
Are you saying they are liars.? Nope. I believe that you could have sincerely heard nigger.
Well since they had racist slogans on signs, is it such a stretch? Sorta. First off, what you'd call racist could easily not be. You're prolly more "sensitive" than them. Second, they're protest signs
Go on defend there signs. Oh okay. Here's the funniest of '09 (there's some good ones in there). They're pretty ridiculous in the first place. "They had racist signs"... c'mon now
Tell me how it is so ridiculous to entertain the thought that a person with a racist sign would yell something racist. No, but you heard nigger too. You see a bunch of people with signs that offend you and you hear them say things you'd expect. You're biased. Its no big deal. Did you see Faith's video of the guy getting "spit on"? Saying it like that doesn't reflect what happened. Those reports were biased... to the left.
Instead of actually saying it, you slyly imply you think I am an asshole, because I do not agree with you. Why don't you grow a pair and just call me an asshole in thread again. It attracts unwanted attention Plus, I thought it was funnier that way.
Again I disagree with you so I am an asshole? No, I don't care if you disagree with me. And actually, that's what I think of you. And its typical of the leftists. If you don't tow the party line, then there must be something wrong with you. It usually boils down to them calling you a bigot or ignorant. We can see this very behavior, from you, in this thread.
Do you truly believe there is a liberal media conspiracy? Nope. I believe that some media has a liberal bias. It has been exemplified by the reports of the man being spit on.
What lameass thing are you going to jump all over me for next? I only jumped on you because I thought that it was funny that you said that she was detached from reality and then go and be detached yourself by clearly hearing something that wasn't there.

Hey Xong.
I hear the guy closer to the mike at 1:36 say "Traitor...go home", but at 1:33 I hear someone further away use the n-word. I'd have to agree with some of the other posters which claim "traitor" is the more pronounced hurled epithet. But I think you're correct that "nigger" is a possibility at 1:33. Then again, so is "neener". Or "wig herd". I wasn't there, so all I can say is "nigger" may be what was said at 1:33, or at any/all other portion(s) of that teaparty protest. However, I find it not too difficult to accept that the word was indeed flying about at that particular event, especially considering both the multiple eyewitness accounts, as well as the teabaggers' reputation for douchebaggery. Have a good one. "My own suspicion is that the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose. J.B.S Haldane 1892-1964

Me telling you that you're your wrong and they didn't say nigger isn't me saying they cannot be racist It sound like the N word to me however it is not 100% definitive without actually being there and seeing the person say it. Considering the tention there, it would not suprise me that someone would say it. People are deluding themselves if they think that there are no racists in the tea party. On the other side, it is equally wrong to say every one in the tea party are motiviated by racism. On this heated topic I think the truth lies between the two extremes. And please don't giving me the mindless middle crap. One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We're no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It is simply too painful to acknowledge -- even to ourselves -- that we've been so credulous. - Carl Sagan, The Fine Art of Baloney Detection "You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep seated need to believe." - Carl Sagan "It is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring." - Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World

Couldn't hear much of anything first few times, then finally made out "traitor." Same thing next two times. Definitely a long "a" sound.
So far the "racist" incidents are so strangely hidden from the cameras, either hallucinated in sounds where it doesn't exist or read into signs that are a bit extreme but not racist. You'd think if it actually existed it would be recorded somewhere. I have no idea what it means that some conservatives denounced racism at the events if there is no evidence that there ever was any racism. Perhaps they believed what they were falsely told; perhaps they are saying generically that IF there is any they denounce it. In any case there's no sign of it in actuality, only in the heads of leftists. Joke: What do you call a person who is winning an argument with a liberal"? A racist. Yeah, no hint of racism:
However, like I said earlier, there may be some racists but they are not all racists in the tea party movement. There are actually some African Americans in the tea party movement. Calling him a Muslim is not racist. I only see a few that look clearly racist to me and mostly they are just plays on words and jokes. I also don't see any indicators to tell me where some of these photos were taken. How do I know they were even at a Tea Party event?
The video at the congress covered the crowd from a pretty good angle and there were no signs of any such thing. Other pictures I posted also showed a lot of the crowd with no hints of it. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Calling him a Muslim is not racist. No but it implies hatred toward muslims. It's hate but not racist... so it's okay
only see a few that look clearly racist to me and mostly they are just plays on words and jokes. racist jokes

Those are....just "taken out of context".
"Some people think God is an outsized, light-skinned male with a long white beard, sitting on a throne somewhere up there in the sky, busily tallying the fall of every sparrow. Othersfor example Baruch Spinoza and Albert Einsteinconsidered God to be essentially the sum total of the physical laws which describe the universe. I do not know of any compelling evidence for anthropomorphic patriarchs controlling human destiny from some hidden celestial vantage point, but it would be madness to deny the existence of physical laws."-Carl Sagan "Show me where Christ said "Love thy fellow man, except for the gay ones." Gay people, too, are made in my God's image. I would never worship a homophobic God." -Desmond Tutu
