Most universities were not started by the church but my teachers and students Completely FALSE. MOST if not ALL Universities were founded by the Church. That is a FACT.Who are the teachers and students that you refer to? The only ones that had education during the Middle ages were the Monastaries and Clergy. So who were they? During the Crusades the Church acquired some education from the Arab world AND it was very well PRESERVED and PROTECTED EVEN WITH CHURCH CONTROL. WITHOUT the Church education would NOT exist as we know it today ! We would be no better than the Muslim world. And PLEASE don't ask me something like....How do you know that? It is very clear.
You have shown several pretty pictures of universities as they are today. You also mentioned the following: Medical School of Salerno I found this at the following website http://www1.umn.edu/ships/gender/giese.htm "The medical school of Salerno, Italy, was the first one not affiliated with the Church." Bad site. The site you gave concerns the role of women in Science. It appears to be somewhat divolved into feminism. But nonetheleess it does state that Salerno was not Church affliated, BUT, HERE is the problem. It FAILS to STATE exactly how Salerno was founded or started. So , unless they can say how Salerno was started it is bogus. I believe you will find my site much more accurate. Salerno looks to have its origin in the Benedictine Monastaries. And BTW, Salerno was NOT BIASED in its approach to education as they EVEN PROMOTED the WORKS OF ARABS. NOW, would YOU call that SUPRESSION by the CHURCH? NOPE, QUOTE---The medical school of Salerno was famous in medieval history; it was founded neither by Charles the Great nor by the Arabs, the city never having been under the domination of either. Its origin is to be found in the Benedictine monastery of Salerno, established in 794, in which the botanical and the medical works of the ancients were studied. Its fame grew, when about the year 1070 the celebrated Costantino Africano took refuge there. He had studied in the schools of the Arabs in Babylon, at Bagdad, and in Egypt, and was presented by the brother of the caliph of Babylon to Guiscard, who took him as secretary. He gave a new impulse to philosophical and to medical studies by making known in the West the works of the Arabs.
GOOD SITE Corpus Christi I found this at the following website, Sucuri WebSite Firewall - Access Denied "Corpus Christi College is one of the ancient colleges of the University of Cambridge. Founded in 1352 by the Guilds of Corpus Christi and the Blessed Virgin Mary, it bears the distinction of being the only College in Oxford or Cambridge founded by their citizens." Uhhh...Winky...The Blessed Virgin is Catholic.
Univeristy of Padua I found this at the following website, CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: University of Padua "The University of Padua dates, according to some anonymous chronicles (Muratori, "Rer. Ital. Script.", VIII, 371, 421, 459, 736), from 1222, when a part of the Studium of Bologna including professors and students withdrew to Padua." So what? What was Bologna? Padua was definitavely Church founded.
So they were founded by the church? Care to reveal your sources? They seem to conflict with mine. Then show me WHO they were founded by. There WAS NO PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS. ANY Public institutions were for the most part based upon the physical.
David C. Lindberg The Beginnings of Western Science (The University of Chicago Press, 1992) p.320 As medieval Christianity matured, it became common for sermons and religious literature to teach that sickness is a divine visitation intended as punishment And to complete the picture, we have the concrete evidence of religious leaders denouncing secular medicine for its inability to produce results More proof that the church actively spoke out against knowledge. Conclusion? The church destroyed knowledge and suppressed learning. NOT ACCORDING TO SALERNO. They allowed Arabaic teaching of Medicine. THAT IS PROMOTING NOT SUPPRESSING KNOWLEDGE. CERTAINLY not DESTROYED as you claim.
It looks like you have lost this argument well and good. If you insist on continuing to post pretty pictures and quotes without siting your sources I won't be responding and will consider your position proven false. Waaa WAAAAAAAAAA ..wa WAAAAAAAAA !!!! Wise

So Zeus was European? Well, he's a Greek god, isn't he? And Greece is in Europe. So, in human form, yes, I'd say he's European.
Does evolution conflict with your religion as in their creation story? I dunno. All the stories about the creation are made-up. I'll have to wait until Zeus sees fit to tell me how creation occured. When he does, I'll let you know.

Here is an interesting site discussing church bans on education during the dark ages (400-1000c.e.)

How can you have the head of Jesus in one picture, and his eye in another? Why isn't his eye in his head? That's where eyes go.
Anyway, you're still wrong. That's the Lidless Eye of Sauron, wreathed in flame. Don't you know anything?

Please explain how light and shadow on a long gone nebula has anything to do with the historicity of the bible?

The oldest university in Europe is, in fact, that of Crdoba, founded by the caliph Abd el Rahman III (reigned 929 to 961). It was there that Arabic and Greek books were translated into Latin and so made available to the Christian world.

Jesus can change WHENEVER he wants! So he's a shapeshifter, too? Jeez, I didn't like the guy when he was just undead. Now he's a shapechanging zombie. And you worship this guy? But there's a much more rational explanation than this shapeshifting, undead "Jesus" hokum. The head in the Eagle Nebula is Odin, the head of the Norse Pantheon, and the eye is (obviously) his eye, the one he lost for wisdom. Duh!
