Actually, I have seen scientists say numbers (1), (2), (4), (5) and (6).
It's still funny.

Re: Our Lord Jesus Christ has been struck by a car
Efforts to find a home phone number for Christ were unscuccessful.
He's ex-directory. But if you're interested, I know the number of the Beast.

Two words: cervical vertebrae.
A giraffe has only seven the same as your standard mammal, there's no way it can do that.

Re: Was Darwin wrong?
An online friend of mine told me a nice story about that. In his town there's a creationist with a sort of creationist kiosk where he distributes creationist literature. And ... yes, you're probably way ahead of me ... when that issue of NG came out he bought up dozens and handed them out like Halloween candy.
Says it all really, doesn't it?

A Creationist Writes
This made me lol.
Second, Meert links the global Flood of the Bible to the Epic of Gilgamesha flood story recorded on ancient clay tablets excavated from the ruins of Nineveh more than a hundred years ago. Parallels with the Bible are obvious but the Gilgamesh story has clear fictional characteristics such as an ark the shape of a cube, and rainfall lasting only six days and nights.

I lol'ed for about a minute:
Though in humans, the appendix is shrinking, in the past it would have produced cellulose strong enough to eat raw meat, and quite easily digest small rocks.

{While the content may have its humor aspect, the purpose of this "Humor" topic is NOT for getting into things evolution/creationism, or in general for taking pot-shots at creationism. Such needs to find a better home. Maybe a separate specialized humor topic - Such should probaby go into the "Free for All" forum - Adminnemooseus}

By my count, conservatively 25% of the posts on this thread are mockery of religious fundamentalists. And if you suddenly want to start making an exception, then please do explain why the heck mockery of fundies should go under "Free For All" rather than "Coffee House". At what point did the words "Coffee House" start denoting sacred ground rather than a forum where anyone could post any trivial little thing about any insignificant subject that crosses their idle minds? Is that not the whole point of having a "Coffee House" in the first place?

This Is the Title of This Story, Which Is Also Found Several Times in the Story Itself.
As this is definitively and indisputably the funniest thing that has ever been written, I propose that this thread should now be closed by the moderators.

Retro
I still play with fractint
That is so retro. Do you still burn witches?
But yes, of its time that was an awesome program.
Certainly many teenage experiments with drugs in the early 90s would have been the poorer without it.

Re: Retro
There were still any drugs left by the 90s?
Actually, no. But have you ever heard of the placebo effect?

I think that this is very funny.
You probably have to be British and share my sense of humor.
