Any other "metal heads" present? This thread is for everything metal and relating to metal.
I figured I would start listing my favorite metal bands:
Slayer, Deicide, Dying Fetus, Behemoth, Bathory, Burzum, Tyr, Gorgoroth, Lamb of God, Strapping Young Lad, Black Sabbath, Venom, Korpiklaani, Einherjer, Falkenbach, Destroyer 666, Blut Aus Nord, etc..

Queensrych, Testament, Metallica (original not the lame new stuff), Megadeth, Pantera. I know I am forgetting a ton.
More "modern" metal I have been enjoying is Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Disturbed.
I actually still enjoy 2 christian metal groups Disciple and Thousand Foot Krutch.
I recently picked up an album from a band I had never heard before called Halestorm. They have a really sassy female lead singer and their songs are pretty cool. I'm not quite tired of it yet which is a good sign for a new (to me) group.

I enjoy the genre as well, but I have a really wide range in musical tastes. I know many of the bands mentioned in the first two posts. I tend more toward industrial metal: Ministry, RevCo etc.

Remembering more
I can't believe I forgot in my original list Tool and A Perfect Circle. How it is possible to forget my favorite and IMO the most artistic and sophisticated metal bands ever will be a mystery to me.
I also forgot Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine, their un/holy offspring Audioslave.

I'm a big fan of melodic death metal. I listen to a lot of In Flames and Dark Tranquility.
I also love Otep - you don't hear a lot of female metal vocalists. "Special Pets" is just about my favorite song atm.
Dimmu Borgir has a few good ones - "Puritania" and "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" are a few of my favorites. What can I say? Blasphemy tickles me.
Iron Maiden is just classic.
Even though they're a joke band from a cartoon, I love Dethklok.
The Minibosses do metal covers of old Nintendo themes. This makes them awesome. Check out their Mega Man 2 medley.

Well, put it this way. Sitting in front of me [besides the keyboard] is a newly purchased ticket to MayhemFest scheduled this summer.
Huge fan of deathcore and melodic death metal.

Rahvin,
I concur with your choice in music...In flames (especially the older stuff), Dark Tranquility, ect.
One of my favs is King Diamond...love the style and the story concept of his albums, especially Puppet Master.
I don't listen to metal like I used to you...kids calmed me down a bit and just the time aspect of all the concerts I went to, beer bought, and tshirts purchased, not to mention the over 1,000 cds I used to have.
Black metal wise my fav is still Immortal. Amazing rift writing on their part. Saw Dimmu Borgir in concert, really good show. Would love to see Iron Maiden live before they die. Worst band I saw...Deicide (not because I of course disagree philosophically with them, that would be true for most of the bands I listen to) but because they were complete asses to the fans....on the flip side, Marduk who opened were for them were cool guys, besides being quite blasphemous...lol. I listened to about everything from black metal to the gore side, Carcass, Aborted, Dying Fetus (always great live).

If you like black metal, did you check out the new Burzum album?

The fact that you're a Creationist Christian listening to Satanic Death Metal makes me cackle with maniacal glee.
I'm finding myself listening to music more and more now that I've finally gotten off my old cell contract and gotten an iPhone - having a good quality MP3 player on me at all times makes music far more convenient than when I had to carry an extra device (I already need to carry a work phone and my personal phone, and my old Helio Ocean was both an obscenely large brick and had terrible sound quality when playing music).

Best thing about threads like this: I can expand my library of metal with everybody else's suggestions.

Looking to expand?
Although they came out last year, I bought them this year. Album of the year for me. Since I notice a few love death metal...
This has some "death vocals" (most on the first song), mainly female fronted, great vocals.
Maybe some will like it.

I've actually heard Epica, and they're pretty good. The female vocalist actually sings classically, which makes a nice contrast with the male vocals (the typical metal "growl") and the metal music (with some orchestra thrown in). It's like Metallica's S&M mixed with In Flames mixed with Evanescence (without being lame).

Tons of death metal bands I like musically....but for one small problem I just cannot buy............
The vocals.
I can deal with a band using some death vocals for effect here and there...but an entire album is just too much for me.
Love this band Kamelot...but what makes the song great is the evil vocals (I think its the guy from Dimmu):

If you are interested in female fronted metal (may be too "clean" for your tastes though):
Ever hear of Nightwish? Leaves Eyes? After Forever? Visons of Atlantis, Dawn of Destiny.....to name a few.
