Rahvin,
I concur with your choice in music...In flames (especially the older stuff), Dark Tranquility, ect.
One of my favs is King Diamond...love the style and the story concept of his albums, especially Puppet Master.
I don't listen to metal like I used to you...kids calmed me down a bit and just the time aspect of all the concerts I went to, beer bought, and tshirts purchased, not to mention the over 1,000 cds I used to have.
Black metal wise my fav is still Immortal. Amazing rift writing on their part. Saw Dimmu Borgir in concert, really good show. Would love to see Iron Maiden live before they die. Worst band I saw...Deicide (not because I of course disagree philosophically with them, that would be true for most of the bands I listen to) but because they were complete asses to the fans....on the flip side, Marduk who opened were for them were cool guys, besides being quite blasphemous...lol. I listened to about everything from black metal to the gore side, Carcass, Aborted, Dying Fetus (always great live).

Yes Rahvin, it is quite ironic isn't it. I should have mentioned that I also listen to a bunch of Christian metal although that field has historically left allot to be desired but if anyone is interested there are a handful of quality Christian bands that I would put on par with the secular ones and have even toured with....
Living Sacrifice (early death metal/now metalcore)
Soul Embrace
Extol (unbelievable melodic/black metal)
Antestor
Believer (old school death metal, think Violence or Antropy)
and....probably my favorite
Saviour Machine (goth metal)

I also have a place in my heart that I love for the female vocals in metal...bands like Theatre of Tragedy, Cradle of Filth, ect.

Cool band Hooah...I'd never heard them before...kind of reminds me of Amon Amarth.

Wow! Thanks Huntard.
Cleveland, OH is the closest but still about 3.5 hours away. Would certainly be worth the trip no doubt.

Ya, certainly sad news about Dio. Loved his music. Kind of one of those metal pioneers that got the ball rolling for all the other bands out there.
BTW vacate, I'm not a huge fan of In This Moment but I've always like that song.
