Why do you care what Straggler will do? There are others reading these threads and frankly, some of us also find your position quite vague sometimes. If you don't elaborate or provide references you've done nothing. But this is a debate forum. People are here to debate the issues not discuss them aimlessly. There is a purpose here is there not? From what I've read exchanged between you two, it seems like he is trying to debate your position while you're not trying to make a point nor defend a point. He's aggressive while you're trying to be philosophical. He's not trying to have a thoughtful discussion, he's trying to prove you wrong.I think you've misread his initial intent. Science is a human endeavor. Nobody disputes this. Nobody is suggesting that we can write the "science algorithm" and leave a bunch of computers to "do science" while we get on with more artistic pursuits.But that doesn't mean that there is no methodology behind it at all does it? A methodology that (I would argue) is chiefly characterized by the requirement that ones conclusions be compared with empirical reality.But I won't elaborate here or provide further references because somebody might actually want me to justify something I say. And we can't have that on a science/religion debate board can we?
