Will be joining you
The vagaries of life are going to put me back on a bicycle seat.
Last week I had all of my medical work done and decided I am getting fat. My BMI is over 29 and my waist is huge. Also, though medicated, my blood pressure is still a little high.
Then I had the rude awakening. I was ticketed for drinking and driving. Not much over but enough to get the ticket. It is only a civil affense for first time here in Wisconsin, but on June 16 I lose my license for 6 months. There is a fairly liberal occupational license, but I need to give the state a schedule of when I will be driving.
We live in the country and the nearest anything is 5 miles away. I have decided this is a perfect opportunity to drop 20 lbs and get in shape. At 47 years I better start now.
I have a Giant Kronos it is over 20 years old, but it was a good bike in its time. It is in the shop now being tuned up. I haven't ridden it in 8 years so I told them to go over everything.
Starting next week I should be putting a couple miles on it and hopefully build up to even more.

Re: Will be joining you
I am a firm believer in personal responsibility. I was over the limit. I know I was. I shouldn't have been driving. It is what it is. The police were doing their job. I am not going to claim they were incompetent. I am going to live with what I have done and not fight it.

Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

First miles
Well I got my bike back from the shop today. Unfortunately, it was sans the new seat I ordered. I guess they are expecting the seat in later today, so I will pick it up next week.
I decided to give it a quick spin around the block. Well the block is 5.5 miles through the rolling hills of the Wisconsin lake country. I survived. Butt is a little sore, so I am looking forward to that new seat.
Put me down for 5.5 miles. Here is a pic of the antique. If memory serves me right I bought it in 1989 or 1990.
ABE
I am planning on riding it tomorrow morning to the elementary school I volunteer at. It is 5 miles each way. Could be fun. Could be a challenge.

Re: 2670 miles to go!
Put me down for 21 miles.
I will start reporting my miles on sat morn after my morning spin around the block. I am planning on a 5.5 mile ride every morn and once I start feeling some strength I am going to go for a couple 10-15 milers this week.
I had the new bike seat and padded bike shorts this morning. Oh what a difference. My taint almost feels normal.

My miles for the week
Put me down for 63.5 miles. I went around the block the other way for a couple days. That was over 9 miles. I also found a nice 12 mile ride and a nice 10 miler. Maybe next week I will push myself even more.

Rain, rain rain
I got washed out 2 days.
My total was the same as last week.
63.5 miles.
I will only be riding 3 days this week. Leaving Tuesday for a week of fishing in northern Minnesota.

Re: Now a Full Century Week
since last check in
101 miles
That was over 2 weeks because the week before last I only rode 22 miles. But this week I was over 79 miles. I am hoping to do 100 miles next week if the weather doesn't get too bad.
ABE
I have found a 15 mile loop. Currently able to do it in 63 mins, I hope to get that down to 60 mins in the next week. It is a fairly hilly ride.

Re: Adding another Century ... and then some
42 miles since last. Seems the 100 mile week caused a bursitis inflammation, so slowly working back up.
