Ivory Coast have been quite good - they're the ones I really pity for the North Korea result. It's going to take a miracle for them to bear Portugal on goal difference.
Drogba and company are very likely going home. An unfortunate draw placed them in "The Group of Death", and Drogba's injury (broken arm) didn't help matters. The pity is mutual, I suppose.
Not just out, but humiliated. One point and one goal from three games - whatever happens now they've already done worse than England or, for that matter, New Zealand.
Must make the Brits happy.
You mean the English. There is no Britain in football, and I'm sure the Scots will be over the moon if England go home tomorrow.
Good stuff! It's the ones who fall down like they've been shot but then get straight up again and carry on playing that really amuse me. If you're going to try and con the ref, you've got to have the courage of your convictions and see it through to the end. The show must go on, luvvies, and all that.
But seriously, it makes my blood boil that the governing bodies don't do anything to stop this. It's ruining a great sport. They could end this nonsense overnight. I'm not a fan of having refereeing by video replay during the game, it would ruin the flow, but these sort of incidents could be looked at after the game. Any player who is clearly guilty of a "simulation" should be banned - for a LONG time. Who could complain about that? Why can't they sort it out?
And anyone who rolls over on the ground more than 1 revolution should be sent off. Nobody who is really injured would roll over and over on their injury. When you're badly hurt you lie still. And another thing - if you're hurt so badly that the physio has to come on and treat you, you should go off the pitch for at least 2 minutes of treatment. If you need treatment, you need treatment. If players knew their side would be a player short for a few minutes, it ought to stop them feigning injury.
We see the same problems year after year and nobody does anything about it. It's pathetic!
Still, best of luck to you guys, although I must say it isn't looking good.
It's fine! We're playing all in red! England have never lost a game in which they've played with red shirts, shorts and socks. What more comfort do we need?
