If it makes you feel any better, the United States lost to a team that draws its talent from a nation the size of my lower intestine.... twice!
I'm moving to Ghana, and renouncing my U.S. citizenship. "Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from mistaken conviction." — Blaise Pascal

Hi, Hyroglyphx.

If it makes you feel any better, at least we didn't invent the sport, then lose badly at it. And, Ghana’s population is 23,000,000: that's not all that small, you know. -Bluejay (a.k.a. We are well used to that.Football, cricket, rugby golf and tennis were all invented by us and we get utterly slapped at all of them on a regular basis. I think it is about time we invented a new world sport. At least we might be the best at it for a week or two

Can't believe it, but after a bad first half, we actually did beat Brazil!
On to the next round! Where we will meet Ghana or Uruguay!

Well done.
It's a Holland v Germany final. I can see it. Chance for you to get revenge for '74.

Oh dear god no. The media will never shut up about it. You think you had a history with the Germans, you should check out our media when this comes to pass. And we don't even have those "tabloids" you guys have.

Hi, Huntard.

I'm personally glad Brazil is out: they've won too many already. I feel bad for Felipe Melo, though: an own goal and a red card in a loss that knocked his nation out of the tournament? Everyone in Brazil is going to want to rip his throat out right now. -Bluejay (a.k.a. Mantis, Thylacosmilus) Darwin loves you.

Hyroglyphx writes: I'm just wondering if Football (Soccer) is about as popular there (Canada) as it is in the US. It seems to have the same lacking fanbase. Can someone confirm that? About the same, yes. Perhaps less-so in the "we can't ever put a decent team together" type of way. Perhaps more-so in the "we are mostly people from other countries anyway" sort of way.
And also, do Canadians refer to the sport as soccer or football? Soccer.
I would imagine soccer, because you guys have your own Canadian Football League. Actually, I think it's more because we-just-do-whatever-the-US-does most the time anyway. It's easier that way. Think of having a big brother... on steroids... who has temper tantrums if he doesn't get his own way. ...and your room is attached to his. Yeah... sometimes it's just easier to go along with things Oh.. and the CFL (Canadian Football League) isn't really football either. Think of the little brother wanting to do what the big brother does... but putting his own ridiculous nuances (that don't make any sense at all) into it in order to deal with some sort of younger-sibling identity crisis thing

Yeah... sometimes it's just easier to go along with things I always thought the Canadians should split their part of the continent into three provinces, tell the Queen to go pound sand and apply for statehood. That would stop this subterfuge of independence and make the reality official. You'd have to get rid of Quebec though. We have enough problems with the remnants of the french in Louisiana we don't need more to the north.

Poor Ghana I do believe that game was robbed from them.
But fuck did that Ghana player miss one monumental penalty kick. He will remember that the rest of his life. - Oni
