Re: Scammer
There's just so much wrong with this, not the least of which is the fact that his military ID card lists his rank as "E1". As anyone who has ever served can tell you, this is the lowest rank of private that the rank of private can go.
Maybe Mr. Anderson can explain his significant increase in rank to captain (battlefield promotion, perhaps?), before any of the cloak and dagger stuff takes place.
Among other things...
Have a good one.

E=mc2 is a liberal conspiracy
I expect that Andy Schlafly is deadly serious about this. However, it is so hilarious it belongs in the Humor thread.
Conservapedia: E=mc2 Is A Liberal Conspiracy
Here's a link to the main Relativity entry. and here's a link to the page where it is declared a liberal conspiracy.
I suppose it is in bad form to laugh at people who are completely insane, but I just cannot restrain myself.
(Note: I found this via a reference in Pharyngula).

Re: E=mc2 is a liberal conspiracy
Haha, and yet the conservapedia article follows the very predictable pattern of creationist citation, which is to cite out-of-date articles.
conservapedia writes:
Claims that relativity was used to develop the Global Positioning System (GPS) are false. A 1996 article explains:
That article is more than a decade old.
Just thought it was funny.

Rrhain made a commercial?
Oh nosss, I think Rrhain has built an anti-"that's so gay" campaign and has taken his beef to the airwaves.

Re: Rrhain made a commercial?
Okay, I'll bite: That ad's so gay.
What's more interesting is that some people believe ad's like this can influence language use. It's one thing to introduce new jargon, another to discourage it. I wonder if the ad will have any impact, other than as something interesting to comment on.

Re: a few years back...
Keep posting your stuff. What about this routine makes you call it, "Not your best work." In my own opinion what weakened it most was that there were 5 or 6 instances where the comedian persona broke down for a mere second or two at most to reveal the real person. Seems contradictory, I know, since much of your material is your own life.
The material itself was not the strongest, but in my experience it's the comedic persona that is most important. Kathy Griffin is a good example. Even when her material is weak or just not working, her on stage presence is so strong that it makes no difference, the audience just goes right along with her.
Of course, what do I know about comedy, especially for the 18-35 crowd that probably most often goes to comedy clubs. Some of the stuff I see on the Comedy channel looks like someone on stage saying gross, disgusting or profane stuff and the crowd erupts into laughter. I don't get it. I'm no prude, you might notice this site has no Forum Guidelines against profanity, but there's nothing inherently funny about being gross, disgusting or profane. If that were the case then some of my friends would be on Leno every night. So I look at these comedians getting a laugh this way and conclude that there's something I'm just not getting. In other words, take any advice from me with a grain of salt.

I remember seeing George Carlin on TV years ago. After the initial applause died down, he opened his mouth as if to say something (funny) but then he paused. He opened his mouth again, then paused again and people started to snicker. He stood there for what seemed like five minutes, about to say something but never actually saying anything and he had the audience rolling in the aisles.
George Carlin had some funny things to say and some profound things to say but he was at his funniest when he was just being George Carlin.

Is this for real?
I found this picture while looking for a picture of something else (click for normal size):
I found the picture on these pages, but there was no explanation, it was just offered as a funny picture:
I spent a few minutes trying to track this down, but no luck. Anyone know if this is for real?

Two words: cervical vertebrae.
A giraffe has only seven the same as your standard mammal, there's no way it can do that.
