This question is aimed at those who claim that the existence of a creator gives life a special meaning that would be absent if there is no creator.
I've never understood this, or had it explained to me what that "meaning" is.
Answers such as "We don't know but God will reveal the meaning when we go to Heaven" or "This life prepares us for the next life" are empty vessels in my opinion.
Does anyone have a substantial explanation as to what "meaning" a creator may have bestowed upon our lives? It has to be a meaning that could only exist if there's a creator, not one we could devise for ourselves. (I'm not asking for proof of a right answer, just a theory that would make sense.)

Not Inclined to promote
I think what you're asking falls under the perview of this thread: The meaning of "meaning".

I'm not sure that it's quite the same thing. I think Bluejay's topic on The meaning of "meaning" is more about semantics of the word "meaning" than about postulating any specific meaning.
I even asked Bluejay in his topic what the meaning of life was for a theist, without getting a response. I assumed he thought my question was not quite appropriate under his topic.
Anyway, I agree in hindsight it's probably not a good idea to have 2 such similar topics running concurrently. I'll see if I can raise my questions again in Bluejay's topic and if I don't get anywhere, hopefully you'll agree to promote my topic on some future date.

Re: Not Inclined to promote
Just because he didn't answer you doesn't mean it doesn't fit in the topic. He may have missed your post. Maybe he's already covered it and didn't want to repeat himself.
Read the thread. I think it covers what you're asking although in a more generic way.
I don't see a need for another "meaning" thread while the other one is still active.
