Re: Londonitis
I guess student gigs (if you do any of those) might be a bit less varied in terms of audience depending which unis you play at.
Universities no doubt are a plus, but I think most;y we'll be hitting comedy clubs, or bars that have stand up.
We still have fucking 'Friends' playing virtually non-stop on our TV channels along with all the other sitcoms past and present, American movies are as well known here as there, we have LA based gossip followers as part of the morning news etc. In fact you could make jokes about the dominance and pervasity of such things and everyone would get it.
That's awesome. I think as long as this is the norm it'll be no problem translating our material.
If you want a T-shirt idea I would suggest the "Stars and Stripes" tour but with the appropriate bits graffiti style crossed out and added to make it read the "Bars and Strippers" tour.
A Banksy style logo.
That's cool, but are you telling me Star Spangled Wankers wouldn't sell? Cuz I really do like the sound of it. Would it make us look stupid?
Anyway - Ignore me. I am well hungover and just ranting random drivel now.
Good sir, this is when you're at your finest.

Re: Londonitis
That's what I figured. This is my local comedy pub. It's within walking distance of my house. Banana Cabaret. South London's finest.
Cool room. I like that there's no stage.
Self deprecation goes down well here and is usually considered something Yanks are not very good at.
Interesting. I've never heard that. I thought we were pretty good at it. I guess it depends on the bar one sets for self deprecation.

Re: Londonitis
Maybe I'm behind the times, but I can't picture it being allowed on any publically displayed posters or billboards displayed outside clubs and pubs, for example.
Really? I thought you guys were less restrictive than we are? Don't they curse on tv over there?
In any case, I thought the name would be good for t-shirt sales and not some much as the name for the group or show.

I think seperation of church and state should be done more here.
Dude, there is no separation of church and state here, there is only a financial separation. Other than that, the Christian's have their lobbyist in Washington, too.

(**Oni slowly walks out from behind a wall, having secretly video taped the events that just transpired between Huntard and Strag. "This will make for good blackmailing in the future," Oni thinks to himself. Huntard will surely pay any amount for the original tape. Oni is please that he will have all the free weed he wants in Amsterdam courtesy of Huntard.**)

Ever decide on a name for your comedy troupe?
Just putting together the last bit of video for the promo-kit. Turns out, Al just got his Comedy Central presents (for those who don't know, it is a half hour special on the US comedy network where Colbert and Stewart's show comes out of) - he films it in October.
Sooo, it may be centralized around him if Comedy Central decides to fund our trip abroad.
If not, definitely the "Gross and Juvenile" tour. J/k.
It's actually leaning toward "America's Least Wanted" (thanks for that, bro.) And, honestly, cuz of the non-language issue, we all love, "Three American Assholes."
But now we wait for Al, our ticket to fame. lol

Just watching terrestrial UK TV (C4) and Tim Minchent (sp) just said cunt and it was not bleeped.
Oh that's so cool!
Lately here in the US, on what's called "non-network" television, they've been getting away with some very rough language. Especially on Louis Ck's new show for FX. It is on after 11:00pm, acutally, they show it at 11:05pm, but they say pussy, cock, jerking off, suck a dick, shit, and more.
I posted this in the humor thread but they air this on TV unbleeped.
So I guess it's progressing here a bit too.
If you ever come to Plymouth Uk let me know and I'll gather a posse.
No doubt! Where is that? Lol

Where you terrible, terrible tax dodging people set sail from (and somehow landed at).
Ohhh, ok. Well in that case, it's kind of a welcome home.
Wait, my people are from Spain. Ah fuck it, I'll be a Yank in Plymouth.
