Member Account Merging

Dear Kind Administrators:It would appear as though someone else's posts have been merged and listed under my username.If you look at this list: Jon's Posts, you will see that my earliest posts are listed from March 2004, though I did not join until December 2005. I'm wondering what went wrong here, and if it is fixable. I know that I did not do this one: Message 1, and I am pretty sure I am not responsible for the others either, though I cannot remember for sure which posts are mine after my joining datesome have a style resembling me, others not so much so. It does appear that when I first joined, under the username Trkuhrid, that I signed my posts "Trk", so perhaps the earlier ones can be sorted out using that.Thanks,

My guess is that someone registered as "jon" as opposed to your "Jon".Now names are not case sensitive so that can you longer happen. But when Percy made the "no case sensitive" change apparently the "jon" and "Jon" messages all got credited to you.We shall see if the mighty one can fix it.Adminnemooseus

May I join in?I have a similar problem. It was reported to Percy four years ago here: Message 58Cheers.

I've given all posts prior to your registration timestamp to the other account whose member name I've changed to "jon_the_first".But you may have registered twice, once in November of 2004 and then again in December of 2005. Or possibly your account was confused with two others instead of just one.What do you think of Message 121? Does that look like yours? It certainly doesn't seem like it could belong to jon_the_first, since whoever actually wrote the message says he had just registered while jon_the_first was already well known as a troll at the time, see Message 1.

Yeah, that is not one of my posts. I only registered here once in December of 2005. I have to admit, though, the one you linked to didn't sound too trollish. Perhaps we are dealing with three members named Jon?Jon (the real one)

Amazing - three people registered the name "Jon". There's now a "jon_the_first", a "Jon_the_Second", and a Jon with over a dozen aliases, many of them very weird! Should be mostly straightened out now.Jar, I'll try to get to you next.
