Before coming to this site, I was often restricted to youtube for some serious arguing.
But as time went on, I began to realise that youtube tends to be a large mess. While there's a large pool to choose from, many video
's tend to be emotional, use one-sided arguing without countering. use strawman assumptions, or are making fun of the other side. Both sides of the debate are prone to this.
The comments are possibly even worse. While sometimes good points are brought forward, offensive wording is common. Atheists mock theists, and theists mock atheist, and in bad cases pull a speech about hell. Moderation is often completely absent.
That being said, some vids are actually useful, due to it being a visual medium.
So, does Youtube have any merit to launch debate? Or is it to unrestrained?
