if other Life is Discovered wouldn't this Pose a problem?

You have seen other Solar systems? wow! you must be the first!(sorry) we have evidence that there are planets around other stars but we have not "Observed" and we may not for a long time. as of now we are contained in our sun's Solar system. So as I said life could be very common we just don't know it

One of the biggest reasons this shared food/air pipe construction became fixed in the human population is because it allows complex speech.Being able to communicate complicated information is a huge survival advantage to the species and would outweigh the cost of losing some individuals to choking.
