As you can see, AE can make up quotes all day. Mostly they can be found at racist blogger sites; he never knows any published or cited source for them. But they usually feature Democrats or liberals supposedly saying things that would shock the liberal conscience. That's good enough for him. And he just LOVES the opportunity to type "nigger"...then he can be called out for it and do his rant on how the REAL racists are those who call him out. AE is internally consistent: it's only when he leaks into the real world that the cracks show.
yeah you and your strawmen have me all figured out [SARCASM] "This war is about slavery" --- Robert E. Lee Your turn to prove a negative.
well that is easy, It is not the reason Virginia and virginians were in the war (Lee was a Virginian). any more brain busters?
If you have hate in your heart, let it out. --Clayton Bigsby White Power! --Clayton Bibsby
The Lyndon Johnson chestnut that AE offered is a beaut. It was first reported in Newsmax journalist Robert Kessler's book, Inside the White House, where it was described as a comment made by LBJ to two governors aboard Air Force One.
here is LBJ saying more on tape: No webpage found at provided URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1rIDmDWSms Its rather interesting that LBJ and his democrat buddies, were against the civil rights act of 1957 when there was a republican in office (Ike), but a mere 7 years later they were all for it. hmmm... {Mostly off-topic, hidden - Adminnemooseus} Edited by Artemis Entreri, : No reason given. Its rather interesting that LBJ and his democrat buddies, were against the civil rights act of 1957 when there was a republican in office (Ike), but a mere 7 years later they were all for it. hmmm... You do realize that the democratic part was the party of the south for generations. Southerners did not start moving to the Republican party till the 1960's. Ever heard of the term Dixiecrat? Maybe you should study more history before you spout nonsense. LBJ was known as an SOB that only embraced Civil Rights because he had no choice. What is the point you are trying to make by your comment? Here is another quote by a Democrat.
quote:Strom Thurmond The party of racism used to be the Democrats now it is the Republicans. Still waiting for you to start a thread about your views of the south and the Civil War. You have shown no evidence to support your assertions. Did you see how I did that? When I present an argument or evidence I provide a source. You might want to try that some time. {Off-topic, hidden - Adminnemooseus} Edited by Adminnemooseus, : Hide. Facts don't lie or have an agenda. Facts are just facts

well that is easy, It is not the reason Virginia and virginians were in the war (Lee was a Virginian). So what did he think the war was about? An excuse to dress up in gray uniforms? And why did Virginia join the Confederate side? Let's hear from some Virginians, shall we?
Resolved by the general assembly of Virginia [...] That these causes are to be mainly found in the denied equality of the rights of the slaveholder and the non-slaveholder, involved in the proposed partial exclusion of the former from the common territories--in the breach of the plighted faith of some of the non-slaveholding states and people, by acts and laws designed to obstruct the recovery of escaped slaves--by avowed designs to shape the policy, and use the machinery of the general government so as to effect, by indirection, the extinction of slavery, which it is conceded that government cannot rightfully or directly interfere with--and by other acts importing a denial of our rights of property in our slaves, and of our exclusive control over slavery as a domestic institution--and these are causes of complaint common to all the slaveholding people and states, and are in plain violation of the spirit and terms of our compact of union. --- Journal of the House of Delegates of the State of Virginia, for the Extra Session, 1861. The people of Virginia, in their ratification of the constitution of the United States of America, adopted by them in convention on the twenty-fifth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, having declared that the powers granted under the said constitution were derived from the people of the United States, and might be resumed whensoever the same should be perverted to their injury and oppression; and the federal government having perverted said powers, not only to the injury of the people of Virginia, but to the oppression of the southern, slaveholding states: --- Virginia Ordinance of Secession {Off-topic, hidden - Adminnemooseus} Edited by Dr Adequate, : No reason given. Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile way and you have their shoes.
