I get to do what I enjoy doing. I am paid well for doing it. I don't have to worry about where my next meal is coming from. I don't have to spend hours poring over boring balance sheets.
Where's the problem?

Those guys on The Big Bang Theory are probably getting lots of tail.

Re: Products of science
If you're lucky enough to do a science that actually results in profitable products...
But then there's things like plastic from corn and the chemicals that are put into our food and the science behind weight loss products, the computer products that are in front of your face....
Everything you see in front of you is from science. And somebody's getting rich off of it.

I just about died watching that video. Hits a little close to home. My lab used to use the same brand of purple gloves.

Because that is not what we are interested in. I think there is a point in every science minded person's life where they choose between the bucks and the lab. Many of us know that we could have gone to pharmacy school or gone into dentistry, but we knew that we would be bored out of our minds. We were meant to do science, and that often means making fewer bucks, at least early in one's career.

Me love you long time - relatively speaking of course
That is one point to make, you guys in the science field - esp. in labs - must have some top asian ass walking around. In fact, your field and medicine must have the majority of fine asian females. Jealoussssss

Re: Me love you long time - relatively speaking of course
Real conversation in the Public Affairs Office of the United Nations Command, Seoul, circa 1977:
1st Guy: Miss Lee came by.
2nd Guy: Miss Lee?
1st Guy: Yeah, Miss Lee: about 5'2", black hair, dark eyes, slender, pretty? Looks a little angry?
2nd Guy: Oh, that Miss Lee.
1st Guy: Yeah, I told her you'd already rotated back stateside...is that OK?
2nd Guy: Sure. I have a date with Miss Park.
1st Guy: Miss Park?
2nd Guy: Yeah, you've seen her at the club--about 5'2", black hair, dark eyes, slender, pretty?
1st Guy: Oh, that Miss Park. Is she angry?
2nd Guy: Not yet.

Dost thou prate, rogue?
