Concerning good and evil, I feel that the overall lesson being taught is that obeying or conforming to good requires empathy, refutation of selfishness or greed, and oftentimes sacrifice.
If my name was Satan and I was writing a book to fool people into being evil, that's exactly what I'd do. I'd appeal to your innate sense of empathy and selflessness, then palm the pea, pull the old switcheroo and tell you that the only way to do good was to obey my book.
Then I could tell you any old nonsense about bashing babies' heads on rocks and you'd say, "Oh, this is a good thing because The Book™ sez so."

But aren't we supposed to have sinful natures, so that we would naturally gravitate toward sinful action?
That's what The Book™ says but we know it isn't true, don't we? That's one of the first clues that the whole thing is just one of Satan's lies.
If we know that the New Testament is a lie and Christianity is nothing but a Satanic scam, then why would we think the Old Testament presented the One True Faith™?

The question is this: how do the faithful know that their holy text is truly divine in origin...?
Would The Real God™ be more likely to tell us to do good or evil? Would He be likely to inspire writers, copyists, redactors, apologists, etc. to pretend that genocide is His version of "good"?

But I want you to first show me someone who has a firm belief in something, perhaps something he would even be willing to die for.
People die for false causes all the time. "God is on our side" is the slogan in every war, for both sides.
Strength of conviction says little or nothing about the value of the conviction. As often as not, people with strong convictions are just easy to fool.

The Bible says that Satan has deceived "the whole world."
That's what the evil god Carl wants you to think. He inspired the Bible to deceive you into thinking that everybody but you is deceived.

Upon further reflection, I concluded that we don't know. And I concluded that it is ok not to know, as long as one trusts that God knows and is living and active.
That makes it even worse though. At least the Bible can be tested against reality. We can verify what is truth and what is error or lies. But you're trusting the conman implicitly without any possibility of testing. You might as well trust me when I tell you to send me all of your money and I'll double it by the end of the week.

For those of you who are suspicious that the Bible's "inspiration" could be from Satan, I have a few questions.
You're really just asking one question over and over again.
It's common practice to lie to one's enemies. Satan wrote the Bible to fool people into thinking he was losing the battle. He created the false cult of Christianity to fool people into doing his evil work, such as campaigning against homosexuals.

Get them to doubt God's word. Get them to question God's heart.
Try to put it in perspective. Suppose somebody from your church offers to invest your money for you. How do you know whether or not you can trust him? What steps do you take to check him out before you put all of your eggs in his basket?
"He told the truth several times before" isn't quite sufficient, is it?

Do you really think that people form their religious beliefs all willy-nilly?
I'd say that's a pretty fair assessment, yes.
The core beliefs might be handed down from family or culture but most people tend to agglomerate a lot of diverse detail from books, videos, etc. Look at some of Buzsaw's outlandish ideas, for example.
In my experience, the more "literally" people take the Bible, the less they know about it and the more likely they are to accept willy-nilly ideas from outside sources about what it says.
Who is really in charge of inspiration? Ron Wyatt and YouTube.
