Down through time, Dwise1 has done a number of these "personal story" type messages and I always find them to be an interesting read.

Cavediver & Apothecus, at "Deconversion experiences"
I second your nomination, but I'd like to add that the Deconversion thread drew out several excellent "personal stories". If I had to pick two that I found particularly well-written and interesting it would have to be cavediver and Apothecus.

And I was considering:

I think the whole thread should get a Thread of The Month award.

A mysterious nomination for Rahvin
Author: Rahvin
Message 1
Mysterious Questions, Mysterious Answers and Supernaturalism
A lengthy, but important point.
quote:
What is a mysterious answer? A mysterious answer is an answer lacking in explanatory or predictive power. A mysterious answer is one that does not increase our understanding of the question it attempts to answer, and instead often utilizes vague, poorly defined (if defined at all) terms as a sort of password to stop further investigation and shut down curiosity. At its heart, a mysterious answer is one that appeals to an emotional sense of satisfaction rather than an actual increase in intellectual understanding.
Thanks to the other nods I got this month. Thought I'd share the love. I'd also like to nominate Deconversion experiences as thread of the month with the multiple fantastic and well deserved POTM nominations that came out of it.

The was a very good post by that nice young person, Larni, but I forget what thread it was in.
Having read this thread several times, and passed by this lonely post by Larni, I began to feel a bit bad for Larni. It wasn't as awkward as when Doubting Too thought he was a girl (Message 41, Message 47, and Message 50), but I couldn't let it just sit there any longer. So, in pity , I'll nominate this:
Author: Larni
Post: Message 285
Thread: Does ID follow the scientific method?
Not entirely for pity's sake, though. It's a nice exposition of the scientific method, with particular emphasis on hypothesis-testing, where science and ID part ways in terms of methodology.
